Hello, I know it's just Mirror, but I've always rated him highly. It says that a move to Napoli may be on the cards but I just can't see it to be honest. Napoli are signing some big names and I'm not sure Dembele falls into that camp. What do you guys think? I think he would fit in nicely and improve our squad in an area where we need it. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/mousa-dembele-seek-spurs-transfer-2806681
You would have to smash your current pay structure to get him and I can't see McNally ever doing that!
He'd be a brilliant signing in my opinion, despite his concerning injury record. However, as JK says, I think there's no chance for us unfortunately. I imagine his wage demands will be out of our league, let alone whether he'd want to come here.
he's a top player. wages would be an issue which would be the issue, not him being out of our league - fulham would be interested in re-signing him i'd have thought. i would question is he what we need though if we are talking ACMs - isn't he similar to Fer - good at breaking up play / breaking forward, more than a creative-passing type?
I think he'd be out of our league. I think he'd get offers from teams considered to be superior to us.
He's an absolutely brilliant player, one of my favourites actually though I agree with others who say we'd have next to no chance of signing him.
It's like the Kagawa thread the other day, no chance. I can't find an exact figure online, but rumours that his salary is around £70k p/w. That's not just breaking our wage structure it's obliterating it. Not to mention that I doubt he'd be interested in a club without European football, and Spurs would most likely want a decent return on the £15m they spent on him.
I was going to point to the Kagawa thread. Simply out of our price range and unlikely to look at Norwich as their next step. Only a few months ago we were amazed at getting a good but untested striker in RvW and a brilliant but fairly unknown player in Fer. Can't see us suddenly shelling out double figure millions for players in top 6 sides. Maybe next season?
I'd be surprised if the story was true. He's been virtually an ever present in our team this season so has no reason to complain about lack of football. I think he was complaining about wanting more license to go forward but it's early days for our squad, I expect the reins will be loosened somewhat if we ever start linking up better. I acutally think he's better in a more defensive role anyway, he's improved a lot at breaking up attacks lately. If he did leave though I don't think he'd sign for you guys. No offence but there are sides that will expect to finish in the top half that I'm sure will be interested too, he's a great player.
A Spurs team being kept on a tight rein? How times -- and football -- change! However, it might help some of our fans to accept that Chris Hughton isn't unique in believing that success is built on disciplined defence.
