Remember the recent rumour that the Club were putting together a £10m deal over 4 year deal to keep Dembele, making him our top earner? A local reporter, close to those at Motspur Park and who normally produces credible reports, gives some added optimism - http://www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/fulham-fc-ealing/2012/06/08/82029-31140299/ Just a wee while back, Dembele was singing the praises of Billy McKinlay - http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/dembele-mckinlay-great-coach-work-fulham-3216871?utm_source=taxonomy_landing_page Not saying he won't get tempted but, to coin a phrase, " if you think it's all over .."
Agreed, Bidley. If you gave me the choice of keeping Clint or Moussa but only one of them, I'd take Moussa in a heartbeat. As I've said elsewhere, it's easier to see how we would replace Dempsey. I want to hear something about a new contract for Danny Murphy sooner rather than later, too.
This. Dembele is harder to replace in our set up. In fact our team adapts around Dempsey rather than the other way around, so an argument could be made that Jol may be able to play more of his system without Dempsey. I hope that Ruiz can make the step up. It would help us significantly if he has a good summer/pre-season.
Agree with everything said. Dembele is the beating heart of the team, he may not get the goals but his link up play between the midfield and attack is invaluable.
If this happens it would be a great result for the club. It will also stop some other youngsters from dreaming greener places elsewhere!!
