Demba Ba

Was thinking during the West Ham game, If they go down, will Ba want to stay? Maybe he has a clause in his contract that he can leave if they do get relegated?

I Wouldnt mind seeing him in a Newcastle shirt if im honest.

Thoughts?

 

I thought he was only on loan?

 

He signed for 6m on a 3 yr deal

 

Oh. Well he knows he's a good player, and that West Ham are in trouble, hopefully he'll have put in a relegation get out clause.

Then again, maybe he was too confident of survival, he claimed he would save them by keeping them up

That is correct. Although he looks a really good signing now. Scored a great header today!

 

I've heard he's pretty injury prone.

We've had enough of those players in my short 20 years supporting Newcastle. Although he does look good.

Actually its 3 goals in 3 starts, not bad by anyones standards

 

He does look a decent enough player, also thought Obina looks a good player for the hammers as well. Dangerous going forward and cause us some bother when we played them at their place.

 

He's a cracking player and looked really impressive in a struggling team in a tough German league. He has a dodgy knee, hence the failed medical and subsequent move to a struggling team when he's way above their level. Details of the deal to take him to West Ham are unclear, there are differing reports. I'm hoping it is a loan and we can go in for him at the end of the season but if its permanent it seems unlikely if West Ham stop up.

 

How many starts did it take Leon Best to score 3 but I have been impressed from what I've seen of Ba since he arrived in the Premiership, would be a good signing IMHO if he could keep himself fit.

 

I would like to see us go after Daniel Sturridge. Not just because he scored against us, but because every time I have seen him play he has looked quality. He is young, quick, enthusiastic and a good finisher. He also fits perfectly the player profile that Mike Ashley has said that he wants the club to be signing.

I really feel that we should go after him if Chelsae are willing to let him go in the summer.

 

I might be wrong but I think Ancelotti came out recently and said Sturridge wasn't going anywhere this summer, and if he keeps his current form up you'd have to believe Drogba will be on the way out with Sturridge getting a look in at Chelsea.

 

Young and on high wages... Not so sure about that. Seems to be too far up his own arse.

I wouldn't want Demba Ba, i don't know what it is but i just feel that while he will do well at West Ham, if we sign him he will just turn into another Ameobi...

I assumed that he wasn't but I could be wrong

 

In another article it was mentioned that the only reason he went to Bolton (as others were interested) is because they were the only one's willing to pay his £50k a week wages. for a 21 year old its ridicules. And most players on loan still have their parent club paying a portion of their wages, so he could be on more...

If he's banging in a goal a game I'll pay him the £50k myself.

Regardless of his age, there are some strikers out there who are scoring less but getting paid a heck of a lot more than he is.
