A Hammer here, it took me 5 minutes of his debut at West Hafor me to realise he wasn't going to be a Hammer for very long, was surprised no one big came in for him when went down as it was obvious to anyone who saw him he had class. I'm a bit of a Torres fan too, from his Atletico days (lived in Spain back in those days), but it's pretty obvious that Torres isn't what he once was, probably due to LFC rushing him back from injury three times in the same season and he's never been the same since. I'm a bit mystifiedas to why he seems to be on the bench most games, frustrating me a bit as he's in my Fantasy football team, wondered how you guys feel about him, you think he should start or is rafa playing it right?
Torres shouldn't start. He has done nothing worthy to start! Ba has scored 3 times already! Hopefully Ba will start at Swansea and become our main striker
Rafa is a bloke who has to keep "rotating" the squad, so we're not the sort of team you want to select a fantasy side from! They'll only play half the games! PS He should have put Ba on at the start of the 2nd half, not for the last ten minutes!
Like the OP I was a big fan of Torres in his Atletico days. He just isn't the same player now. Ba should start every time and will do once we are officially out the cup on Wednesday. It would be fascinating to see who Benitez would actually choose in the event we make it to a final this year.
Shocking miss by Ba today. Hope we aren't going to see the demise of another striker once he puts the blue shirt on.
Torres makes Emile Heskey look like Marco Van Basten, I think Emile is probably the better player than Torres, currently.
My son recons Torres must have been having help from a psychologist trying to make him feel 'ard if he looks 'ard. All to do with the mentality. Change of image and all that, bit like Sampson in reverse.
