Wait for IT! DARYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY never seen a goal like that before! What a opportune finish. God knows why he doesnt get any chance ahead of Torres in most matches. Hopefully for our final 5 league games - atleast away games he gets ahead of Torres. What do you all think?
Ba was great for us at newcastle. The difference being you have many players who would rather shoot than pass (and they're good at it), while our strategy was all about setting up the striker. Ba can finish, no doubt about that. He doesn't rely on pace like torres does.
Same at West Ham, 7 in 12 (although I seem to recall at least 3 of those 12 were as a late sub) in a season we couldn't buy a goal, pretty sure all our supporters would have him back in a heart-beat.
to you toons & hammers fan! who would you rather take now - Nando or Ba? By all means - that is not a big but HUGE goal in our scheme of this season! If I were Jose - would put Ba over Nando for the final run - in!
Torres just doesn't seem to be a good fit in the PL any more, sure he can do a job in Spain though, hope he doesn't just hang on for the wages, he must have more than enough to go with his head high.
Fair play to the lad. Came on, put in a shift, ruffed them up a bit and got his goal. Most important minutes in a Chelsea shirt. Same with Torres who worked hard and helped make a difference.
I think he'll be your number 1 now! Vital goal in the title race as well. I wonder what would happen if he played the full 90....
100% agree with you. Eto'o looked hopeless - had few good opportunities and failed to put it away just like Salah!
clinical finish! and the legend continues!! Ba is dogs#!te alright! - could have easily put Willian through at 82 mins for our second goal!
Did really well yesterday... Held the ball up.. Frustrated the defense. Scored! Worked his cotton socks off. Well done lad.
Ba - love his goals and attitude, though some of his play verses Liverpool on Sunday was peculiarly bad. Have to say it was very professional of Torres to let Willian score when given his need for goals he could have gone for it himself. I hope Torres has a great season in him here, or has a good world cup - his current malaise is etched into his expression. He does give 100% though, and tries too hard at time. Ba's "celebration" ... notice how the other players respectfully give him his time to complete it before hugging him. They must know it's a religious thing he is doing, but it still surprises me that in the moment of celebrating vital goals the players around him respect his space for that moment. A bit of a passion killer. A friend of mine told me he is a regular at the Wembley Mosque and is very humble and approachable. He also told me that black mark at the top of his forehad is a sign of piety where he comes from. So basically, not you typical modern footballer. Generally religious gestures are very common now in football, with even English players not afraid to show their faith. Somewhat at odds with the post-Christian country we live in.
Took his goal well, but I thought he was generally apalling on Sunday. No amount of working socks off could hide the fact that his distribution often prematurely nullified our counterattacks.
Very very harsh on Ba there...I thought he was very good. Some dodgy passes but nothing too bad. Held up the ball very very well.
