I think every club has aspirational/fanatical supporters, something i'm sure you are all too aware of on this board with the "Wenger Our", "wenger forever" brigades. This is the best team we have had in a long time, so people are getting excited. I don't see it as being any different to your fans believing you can still win the league when you are losing your best players and not replacing them like for like with equal talent. Unless the FFP rules are enforced, City, Chelsea, Malaga, PSG, Barca and Madrid will dominate the cups available to them.
Arsenal and Wenger have always fought against adversity / inequality in the English league to compete and do well. I believe if Wenger augments this team well we can do it again. We are already seeing some results of FFP with Chelski's failure this season when they have been more restrained in the transfer market and wages offered.

That is slightly flawed logic though, as if you take away the goals of any teams top strikers, you will by that very logic, reduce their position. Where would you be without RVP? Lower then us without Ade I would venture. I believe pundits talk of a powershift for a number of reasons, a) you had been very dominant results wise for about 15years, untill about 5years ago when it has started to be more even b) they can see that compared to the team that is top of the league, you have been slipping away year on year, whilst we have been improving (hence the closer games). When one team is slipping, and another gaining, there will be a crossover given enough time. However at least RVP is our player, not like Ade. Also if one team is gaining and the other is slipping it doesn't mean there WILL be a crossover, it just means the better Club has to sort themselves out, which happened. For a powershift to occur Spurs would have to finish above us, and for a number of seasons too.

What difference does that make? he was in a Spurs shirt and scored goals. End of the summer VP may well not be yours either, whereas Ade could be in white again.
