Craig Bellamy: Cardiff City are miles bigger than Swansea - more like Barcelona 3 Jun 2013 00:01 In exclusive extracts from his autobiography, GoodFella, Bellamy talks about the 2012-13 campaign and how he believes the Bluebirds can ‘do a Barcelona’ by becoming a huge football force... with a unique Welsh identity
Someone call FFS and see if there's any room in the Coed ? Expect more bollox like this through the summer too. We got there 1st and they can't handle it so they have to tell themselves how much bigger and better they are, so much so that even the bellend players are starting to believe their own hype. I bet the genuine Cardiff fans will be cringing at reading that, it's only morons like a Hughs that will lap it up
Unique in the fact they bent over and sold the history, colour and integrity of their club just to ensure Tan would keep his money in (at 7%) and they would play premier league football. Barca compared to Cardiff?? ... Bellers hasnt done himself any favours here, all the respect he gained from us has just washed down the drain
Cardiff may be a bigger city and their catchment area for fans is bigger, but Swansea have captured the hearts of football fans all around the world. A) for the style we play. B) for the way we run our club (sustainably) C) the success we have had!
"When people looked at Cardiff and the players we had, they were surprised that we were in the mix for promotion. Because you look at us and you don’t see stars. You see grafters." One "stoke" moves up and another most likely will move out. It will be interesting to see what happens next season. Can't help but think about QPR and how they walked away with the Championship the season we went up and look where they are now.
If Bellamy wants to sell his book to the great unclean he has to "big up" The Kuala Lumpers,at the expense of The Swans'. That's only to be expected. However,he is an experienced seasoned football pro, and he knows the reality. In fact, last season he was praising Swansea to the hilt, and that probably upset some of our near neighbours.
"We could control Merthyr, Rhondda, Caerphilly. We could have them in lockdown."........................
Poor guy, Barca players have gone record to say they watch our games... They have never heard of Cardiff though and you can see it is killing Bell End. The man is so bitter that we are so superior with a much bigger global following.
I've always a had a chuckle when they go on about size , it's like a small man syndrome .Can someone tell them size isn't important it's what you do with the assets you've been blessed with which determine the club's profile ,they may think they're bigger but their not better and have a long way to go to gain the reputation we have .So I suggest Bellamy either lubes up or shuts up .
They are not bigger no matter what they think, Swansea is far more famous with far more cash in the bank, far more global admirers and far more superior global reputation. Cardiff has never been a major club yet they think they are potential Top 4 of the planet.... And they call me obsessed? These guys are obsessed over trying to become bigger than us that they have set their sites so high it shows they haven't a single clue about football.
They are certainly preoccupied with size, which indicates a general level of dissatisfaction with their place and status. It could be said that they are suffering from a massive inferiority complex, and we all know why.
I don't think they realise that people laugh at them whenever they call themselves the capital. As Bony says its like small mans syndrome. It's something I'd expect someone with a tiny cock to say or the little weasel that was bullied at school. They think they're better than us, well have I got news for them, they're not ! The really funny thing is they draw most of their support from the valleys, the same valleys that are neglected and in dire need of investment. The reason they don't get investment is because the city of Cardiff is quite happy to take their share of the cash. How bonkers is that? Talking of bonkers, where are the unwashed ? I'm surprised we haven't had a visit yet
Im just wondering how being a big club has helped them and will help them in the future. Wolves are a big club,Sheff utd are a big club, sheff wed are even bigger !! All those clubs are bigger than Cardiff and us but where are they now ? Its all a load of bollocks isn't it ? it makes no difference how many potential seats you have,it depends on how you RUN YOUR CLUB !! Bigger ego than Barca and that's about it
Never liked Bellamy. Apart from the fact he's Kaaaairdiff through and through I just always thought of him as a horrible little man. Even Bobby Robson didn't have much good to say about him in his autobiography. That said, I was prepared to admit I may have been wrong as he was surprisingly complimentary towards us last season. As NJ says he's just pissed that away and his comments are rather unnecessary. Biggest doesn't just mean ground size and catchment. That's only part of it. Bigger definitely doesn't mean best either. The guy is, as the thread suggests, delusional. It's one of the reasons I won't be around much next season. I just cannot face the same old arguments about 'biggest club in Wales' that get regurgitated by both sides, but mainly by that lot up the road. He's right about catchment and all the rest of it and I have no problem with that but as a pro he should know there's more to it than that. Fans of other clubs - truly big clubs - will be pissing themselves laughing. But people will definitely laugh at the Barcelona comparison more than anything else. 'Good Fella' How many times has he been up in court exactly?
