The club have agreed to pay up the remainder of Delaney's contract! What is wrong with these ****ing people running our football club! Don't they realise that you either get a fee for a player or let him walk out the door when their contract expires! How many players have we paid off this summer! Peters, Bullard and now Delaney! The strange thing is... Evening Star are reporting that we got Delaney out as we have another defender deal which cant go ahead whilst his wages were on the books. We surely cant be in such a bad financial situation that we can only afford to have 3 central defenders on the books. Especially as (although he was terrible) Delonkey could also cover LB as well. Now I cant imagine Delonkey was on more than 6 or 7k a week which in footballing terms is nothing.
Good player but I think we need a leader at the back and someone a bit taller, although we are meant to be in talks with that guy from Rangers!!

Sky seem to think its a loan deal To be honest it would surprise me consider our lack of defenders We have Wes Morgan who if fit will play every game, then there is Zak Whitbread who we have just signed who only made his first appearance of the season in the week, he isnt match fit and had a shocker in the week. St. Ledger also made his first appearance of the season in mid week and also had a shocker. We already sold Sol Bamba and Matt Mills and let Aleksandar Tunchev leave from our centre halfs Because we only have 3 centre halfs left and 2 arent fit we have had to use a 19 year old right back at centre half in Liam Moore. And now we have Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton and others interested in him so I would be surprised if Ledge went
Surely someone would have paid a tenner for Delonkey, just to save us paying him off. The gutting thing is, just over a year ago we were offered 800k for Delonkey and Norris and we turned it down <slits wrists>
