VETERAN actor Sir David Jason has accused the Germans of trying to run Europe as a "Fourth Reich". The 71-year-old Only Fools and Horses star claimed Britain was becoming a "satellite" country, governed by Brussels. He hit out at Britain's involvement with the EU in a magazine interview, saying people are getting "a bit fed up" with rules from overseas. Describing himself as a Blitz baby, Sir David, said: "The irony is that here we are, the world has changed, and the Germans want to run Europe. "They failed to do it by war, twice. "What is it? Is this the Fourth Reich?" His outburst came after a poll put the Conservatives six per cent ahead of Labour after the Prime Minister David Cameron took a hardline stance over the Eurozone treaty last week. Sir David went on to say he was only reflecting the views of many in Britain. He said: "We have more and more rules coming out of Europe telling us what to do, and I think people are getting a bit fed up with it. "This was supposed to be a common market. "I don't remember them ever saying we would be governed by Brussels and become a satellite of Europe. But there you are." The outspoken Del Boy actor said he grew up in a house which was bombed, while his brother was sent to the country as an evacuee. He added: "At least we're not throwing bombs at each other."
Don't know why anyone would hate David Jason. His comments are bollocks though, ze Germans aren't trying to create a Reich, they just want to control all of Europe's economies for the benefit of their economy.
Why? How? He's played a central character in two of the greatest comedies of all time, that makes him ok in my book.
