Young up coming manager with so far a reasonably good track record with a team that with limited resources to compete in their league. Scottish pedigree, and it seems he is well liked by his current clubs fans. I think this appointment shows more ambition and thinking outside the box than an appointment like Robins, SOD or Dave Jones. It also puts to bed all those silly rumours and requests of MON, Curbishley, and Mark Hughes, which were arrogant ideas for a club of our stature. My only gripe has been the length of time this has taken and that we have dropped a more than achievable 6 points due to the slow appointment. It could be 9 points as Del won't have much time to instill his method, ideas, training, formation, workout his idea of a starting 11 all by our next match. And that 9 points could quite easily be the difference between relegation and staying up, or even a rather large cash prize for table finish. SL needs to look at Sexstone next in my opinion, as his appointment in the first place was questionable to me, and having a good press manner is not enough to keep your job when you have not been performing in it in all other areas. Good appointment if true. The EP are carrying the story so you never know. Sexstone is a joke but if it was him that wanted McInness and SL that wanted Robins as has been reported, then Sexstone appears to have won that particular battle.
Surprised they haven't confirmed it today, here's hoping they sort out the compensation package for an announcement tomorrow. Anything to take my mind off our league position
