Defoe would be better than some players that have been mentioned.

    Gervinho
    Odemwingie
    Loic Remy
    N'Zogbia
.... are no better than the forwrads/wingers we already have at the Club.

    However...

    Karim Benzema
    Higuain
    Falcao

    would all be BRILLIANT signings.

I think Defoe is quality but understand the rivalry thing, I wouldn't want us to sign a Man Utd player no matter how good he was.

Defoe relies a lot on pace. He does have a very good shot on him, but is only 5' 7". He usually averages 1-in-2, but this year was 1-in-3. At 28, and getting close to 29, he'll start losing his pace within a year or so.

doesn't fit the formation, he can't play the lone striker. plus he's not wanted.

Perhaps reading my comment might help.

I was stating they would all be poor signings.

Odemwingie is about level with Defoe but all the others are better.

Can't understand why you would want him Van Persie is miles better, although, seeing as we don't want him, you can have him cheap?

I really hope you guys get Defoe. We need to clear out some space for a decent striker <ok>

I think he would fit in perfectly - under 5' tall and, just like Joe Cole, barely able to communicate in English<ok>

    Huh?

I don't understand the point you're trying to make. What's that got to do with buying Defoe off us?

You commented on Spurs using the money to buy a 'decent striker'.

Chances are it'll just mean re-signing some old has been who played for Arry previously.
(hence Darren Bent or Robbie Keane)

    Ah. I see.

Well, Keane hasn't left us yet, of course, so I can't understand your logic there.

As for Bent, I'd love him back. I don't think we should have sold him in the first place. Unfortunately, I rather fear that the horse has bolted at that particular stable, thanks to Harry's big gob (when he insulted Bent's goal-scoring prowess on national TV).
