Looks like ol' Jermain is unhappy at Spurs: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13436995.stm So what with the possibility of AJ leaving, is Defoe realistic? I'm skeptical, but stranger things have happened....
Can't really see Spurs letting him go that cheaply, as an England international. And out of their strike force at the moment I would think he is the least likely to be sold holding on to him as a member of the squad even if they got new Strikers in. Keane, Crouche and Pauvlechenko (sp) will probably be sold before him.
As I said on another thread, I think Spurs may well sell Defoe (as well as Crouch and Pav) but I suspect he will want a bigger wage packet than we are willing/able to offer him. Him and Bobby would be a brilliant combination, but I would be very surprised to see it happen. I think he's more likely to end up somewhere like Everton, Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle - teams outside of the top six like us, but with a bigger financial infrastructure than ours.
