A few sources are stating we are interested in jermaine Defoe, plus we all know jol has always liked Tom huddlestone!

With spurs apparently keeping tabs on kacanikalic would you accept a swap deal

    Defoe and huddlestone. For. Kaca?????

    Think I would be tempted

For Defoe AND Huddlestone yes, but for only one, definitely not. I wouldn't get my hopes up, Defoe is linked with us every window.

I'd say Defore is exactly the type of player we need. He plays on the shoulder and harries defenders. Would love to see him at Fulham.

I've watched Defoe a few times this year and was rarely impressed. He doesn't pass - ever. The entire Spurs team could be standing unmarked in front of their opponent's goal, and he'd still take the shot. When Dempsey was fit and healthy this year, he played ahead of Defoe, if that's any indicator.

    And he's 30 ...

Huddlestone is another story. He's great; I've always liked him. But given Scotty Parker's age, it's hard to see Spurs giving him up.

There are also rumors that Defoe might be swapped with cash for Benteke.

Defoe and money for Benteke makes more sense, but Defoe and Agbonlahor are such similar players, I can't seem them playing well together.

But AVB prefers to play with a lone striker and having Defoe up front on his own would be tactical suicide. Has to be either Dempsey or Adebayor up top.

It's a big no to Defoe from me. He used to be brilliant, and now he isn't. Even if he hasn't declined as much as I think he has, we should be looking to sign someone younger than 30. In just one or two years time we could be faced with Berba and Defoe both fading away to less than they are now. We need to think strategically about the age profile of our squad and let that influence who we should be signing. The ideal striker for us would be someone in the 23-27 year old bracket, who can come into the first team and do a job without needing a lot of time to acclimatise to the Premier league but who will be hitting their peak when some of our current first team are starting to fade.

And I would like a page 3 model, a Porsche and a Villa in the South of France for my birthday.

    :)

You're right though, Defoe would be alright as a quick fix, but for a low fee and a wage cut. We'd be better off promoting someone like the Tank.

Do you not think what I said was realistic, Bidley? Hooper or Austin would fit the bill, and aren't beyond the realms of imagination for us to sign this summer. I'll admit the bit about not needing time to acclimatise is always a gamble, but given a bit of luck on that one I don't see why it couldn't happen.

Would you like us to start a fund for the Porsche?

Not necessarily unrealistic, just that pretty much fits the description of what most clubs are looking for. We'll have competition, and lots of it, no doubt. Hooper and Austin are good options, I agree.

And yes, you can start passing the tin around - don't give it to Bandy though, he might **** in it.

It's a NO from me I'm afraid. Average age of squad will go up another year or two!

Agree. They can keep Defoe. Rather promote from within than spend money on him. Huddlestone would be good, I think but Spurs being Spurs would probably want about £10 million for him.

The difference this summer is that they are, reportedly, actively looking to get some players off the wage bill. They might not be as stubborn on price simply to get people out of the door. We can but hope!

Defoe & Bent supposed to be on our want list.
    Over priced and overage.
