After all the posturing and denials, Defoe confirms on SSN this morning that he is frustrated at not playing. Saying that time not on his side and wants to play football rather than sit on bench. Let's hope that Cerny has the last laugh!! Maybe he will come after watching last night how desperately we need a striker (attacking mid fielder, holding mid, centre back...... etc!)
my mother says i had a large vocabulary by the time i was two what has become of british state schooling that it has taken so long for one man to learn english what did he say..did it involve peter and jane
can we have on post that does not end in cerny and bob have an arguement about who predict what and what has and not come after that
Cerny says we definitely can but not until Thursday, Bob says bollocks its not gonna happen he's still going to argue on Thursday as well. Who do you prefer? Cerny or Bobmid, there’s only one way to find out?
It's got to be Cerny; he's a proven shot-stopper. Bob, despite his good looks, charm and personality, has never even made the bench. No contest.
He would want to be a good shot-stopper with the amount of ball ocks flying around when he is playing his games.
Sorry RTID but if you are going to post what Defoe said at least write what he actually said (as in all of it). Agree he said he was 'frustrated at not playing. Saying that time not on his side and wants to play football rather than sit on bench'. But he also said that he 'didn't want to leave Spurs has never wanted to leave Spurs has not asked to leave Spurs'. He also said why would he leave when they are in such a good position? Sorry but the OP sounded like he wanted to leave and he does not. He was never coming and people should accept that.
I had it on good authority from a Dons insider that they were up for the game, would be fizzing passes around, and that we'd get very frustrated - and it all happened. Looks like my source was Wright......
At what stage do we become a big club I wonder? Is it league position; or size of crowd; or how much is being spent in the transfer market? Or some other more esoteric factor like whether or not you can buy our kit in Sports Direct? Just wondering as there clearly is some kind of formula that any club building for the future need to bear in mind. For now however, you would have thought that playing in the best league in the world and taking a salary that matches that status would be quite a draw for many overseas players in particular.
Simple answer to your questions is that i just don't know. However, if we can start attracting regular home nation internationals then i think that we would be well on our way to establishing ourselves in the Prem and well on the way to becoming a 'big club". I would guess that size of stadium/fan base, commercial income generated, quality of training ground, history of winning cups would all go into the mix when deciding what is and what is not a big club. I would think that you also have clubs that are historically big clubs eg Villa and clubs that are presently big clubs eg ****ty.
