You can still see we are still a bit shakey at the back but that's another clean sheet for us today. We have 11 this season and only City have more with 12. This stat surprised me a bit to be honest, but it was a nice surprise. Jones got one of the clean sheets I think but it would be great if Reina got the golden gloves at the end of this season considering his form.
Our defence certainly seems to have improved since carra came in for skrtel so fair play to Rodgers for that. Reina playing better lately aswell. Our run in isn't too bad so I think he might get the golden gloves. He's had it 2 or 3 seasons before hasn't he?
Think Rodgers knows that and can see Carra ( retire) and Coates ( loan/sold) out with one/maybe two of Diakite, Fazio, De vrij in.
Another stat that's interested me today... "Suarez is only the third Liverpool player to get twenty Premier League goals in one season. The other two being Robbie Fowler and Fenando Torres" Now, Suarez getting twenty doesn't surprise me, nor does the other two that have done it. What does surprise me is that he is only the third, I could have sworn Michael Owen had done it too but obviously not!
Heskey scored 22 goals in a season once but only 14 in the league. Also Owen scored 18 league goals twice and 19 twice. He probably would have scored over 20 if he didn't miss so many games through injury
The clean sheets stat is flattering as we have conceded more than 1 a lot this season, we seem to concede 0 or 2
well most were v bottom half yeah? reina really did save our blushes first half as 3-2 would have been possible. clean sheets are always good but i just feel there are a few guys who can't get that passing it out is not the same as failing to cear your lines. enrique in particular is guilty of halfarsed flicks and bad passes instead of clearing it.
I was reading the 'Downing/Top Four' article on the Sky Sports website and thought this isn't a bad line to read: "The sequence of Liverpool's last six league victories since December 22 is 4-0, 3-0, 3-0, 5-0, 5-0, 4-0." Shame about the games inbetween though
