How about Wilson palacios? We were linked with him in January but I think he'd be good and wouldnt be to expensive
I agree with Tickler. Bridcutt is who we should go after. Palacios is probably another one who would demand higher wages than we want to pay.
i concur completely but it seems like he's the buzz championship player for mid-lower prem teams to be in for. i'd love him here but I feel he'll go elsewhere.
Do we have one ? I suspect that the Allams will push the boat out for at least 2 quality signings. That would still be a long way from the Paul Dufferman spending spree. We shall see what pulling power Steve Bruce actually has if what you say is true. Other than the top 7 clubs does anyone else have a manager with a better pedigree than Steve Bruce ?
There isn't a link - that is just an opinion - note that I said "I'd say £20k at the very most." Read what I post before responding, please.
We'll be paying more than £20k a week, we wouldn't be talking to the players we're talking to if the limit was that low. I don't think we've got a prayer with Bridcutt, there's probably going to be an auction, Swansea, Norwich, West Brom, Cardiff, Palace and us all want him.
You have never stated it was just your opinion. No one has a clue what we are willing to pay, all that's come out of the club is that we want value for money, that doesn't mean we aren't willing to pay say 40, 50k wages it just mean the player would have to worth that money.
"I'd say £20k at the very most." That's an opinion. The "I'd say" emphasizes that. If it was a fact, I would've said "The club are saying they will pay £20k at the very most." I didn't want to continue this, but I also didn't want to be told I didn't say something when I did.
I would say that this close season has brought the most argumentative opinionated people out of the woodwork.
All this talk of limits is madness. If Messi would sign for us for £100k a week would we say no because it would break our wage limit? I think most squad signings would be around £20k, the better players would get £30k and we would pay £40k - £50k if we could get somebody like Bent.
The Allams have already said that they will splash some cash on a couple of marquee players. The more Fats we get in the more we have to spend elsewhere. Alot forget that we already have a quality squad and imo better than Cardiff's. But for a goal scorer or both Fryatt and Aluko staying fit for the season we would have walked the championship last season.
on that note there was an article in the sun quoting MM asking for the Cardiff fans to be patient as they are yet to make their first addition to the squad and stating how hard it was to attract players to one of the favourites for relegation.
