Hi guys with Watford strugling for money and palace spending time at wrong end of table what do you think about signing Martin Taylor and Nathanial Clyne? I think Taylor Barnett pairing in at the back we would be onto a winner with there hight and i always rated taylor during his loan time and Clyne would be excellent compition for martin at RB. Watford signed Taylor for free so could be resonably priced. Any thoughts?
i like the idea of nathaniel clyne as cover. However Haven't heard of taylor. Also with barnett missing half the season, and coming into next season with no real match practice, I feel we need atleast 2 established premier league centre backs. Ward definitely wont cut it in the prem, however i believe whitbread will provide good competition for first team places, along with barnett.
Don't think Taylor will be good enough, not at his age now etc. Clyne would be idea cover though. I'm really struggling on thinking of defenders to be honest, lets just hope PL ain't as bad as Wenger at signing CB's!
Whenever watching him in the championship I'm always on edge. Prone to mistakes and not quick enough to handle most of the strikers in the championship let alone the premier league. He's also a persistent fouler who constantly pushes forwards in the back when challenging in the air. It just gives away possession cheaply and is one of my pet hates, there's no need for it. He's fine in the air, but its also about making few mistakes, being composed on the ball (which i don't think ward is too sharp on), speed and stamina. I can simply see him being done for pace and bringing men down and taking a yellow time after time.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Norwich are said to be interested in Manchester United Belgian Defender Ritche De Laet who played for Portsmouth the night we won promotion to the premier league. Portsmouth want to make the move permanent - at a cost of £2m. (Source: EDP 3rd June 2011)
