Defender disappointed move to QPR fell through in summer Last Updated: October 16, 2011 11:39am The defender has made just one substitute's appearance in the Premier League this season, but has been a regular in Spurs' Europa League campaign. The Cameroon international was close to joining promoted Queens Park Rangers on loan before the transfer window closed in August. However, the switch to Loftus Road fell through after Tottenham were unable to agree a deal to sign Bolton Wanderers centre-half Gary Cahill. Bassong remains disappointed that he missed out on a move to QPR and has reiterated his determination to be playing first-team football. "I can't lie, it was very frustrating," Bassong told The People. "I thought they would let me go, as they have a lot of cover in that position. "I know they have to look after themselves, but I have to look after myself and my career. "If I don't play, I want to move, be that QPR or somewhere else. I now just want to play." iReader http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11711_7245289,00.html
I really wished he had signed too, especially after Fitz Hall's performance yesterday. It's a pretty damning situation when the fans are laughing & jeering at his efforts, which are clearly lacking at this level. I still can't understand how Warnock kept Hall at the expense of Gorkks, when last season Hall couldn't even get a first team start. Yet now deems him better equipped than Gorkks for the Prem. Bassong would, it seems have been a very astute acquisition.
Onesize got in same great goal saving tackles yesterday, but he and Derry gave that goal away needlessly, and he should have scored near the end.
