As The Chairboys go into their 30th league game of the season sitting second in the table they welcome 8th placed Pilgrims to Adams Park for what is likely to be another low scoring game with both defences amongst the tightest in English football. Both teams enjoyed a 1-0 win at the weekend ending a 3 game and 5 game run without a win respectively the difference being the Chairboys having extended their unbeaten run to 12 league games dating back to a Monday night in mid November. Gaz has no new injury concerns with Matt Ingram having recovered from bruised ankles but captain Paul Hayes is still missing with his calf problem. The goals have all but dried up since beating Southend 4-1 in December but Hogan Ephriam will be buzzing after opening his account on Saturday for the Blues his first goal for three years and I for one would not be surprised to see him grab the winner again. I will be missing again from AP as working late shift this week but have been given the green light by Mrs Wanderer to go on Saturday
Don't worry Ron, it's early days but we have our defence looking good again, I doubt and hope we don't concede 3 sounds a good match
Good save from the Plymouth goalie. I'm listening to the Plymouth commentary. They're enjoying this - needless to say.
When those two play it's very good but Reid tends to be a bit lazy, do you mean du em or Bobby? The keeper is the best in the lower divisions, well we would say that
I'm not going to get in advance of myself as my old grannie used to say. We don't tend to tire in the second half as go all out defensive if we have a lead. More often than not if it is a lead then it is only by one so tonight is a special treat. R Reid and Alessandra sometimes play as if they hate each other and one won't pass to the other under any circumstances. I think though that a word might have been had now that there is a bit of competition for the shirt and it is beginning to change a bit. Reid is direct. Gets the ball, turns and head for goal like a runaway bull. Often he gets his feet and the ball tangled but he keeps it enough times to be effective. Alessandra runs all day and is a better footballer than Reid in my opinion. However, he doesn't convert enough of his chances. On Saturday between them they could have had almost double figures. We scored one. That's been the downfall a lot of the time. Others don't chip in enough so if they aren't scoring then we lose.
