am i the only one who is worried about our defence ? fontaine looks barely adequate at the best of times. Nyatanga gives the ball away like its about to go off Cunningham looks good going forwards, but inexperienced as a defender Stewart (remember he ?), Carey (20 games max), Wilson (never been properly tested so we really dont know) are the only others Did I miss anyone ? Yes, Foster (thank God for He) and Wilson (cos we really need ANOTHER full back) Our string of good results at the back end of last season coincided with the arrival of Bikey, who hasnt been replaced, AND we have lost Cisse Meanwhile, McInnes is running around the country trying to get us ANOTHER forward, when its painfully obvious its THE BACK TWO that need the attention When are we going to get a professional defence ? I still am nervous for us
Agree that we have every reason to feel uncomfortable about it. One not mentioned is Joe Edwards but he is still a very unknown quantity at Championship level. I'm also concerned about the lack of strikers. Really hope that DMc gets some activity in the transfer market otherwise we could all feel very deflated pretty soon.
Joe Edwards is an untried Fullback - wereas we need centre-backs Strikers dont worry me - teams win things without strikers (France '98, Spain everything else) Without a defence we could be staring down a barrel in double-quick time
