My Name is Will Pownall I am Masters student at the University of Surrey and a huge football fan. For my dissertation topic I have chosen to analyse the factors which affect match attendance in English professional football and their relation to fan loyalty. I chose this topic because the club I support - Aldershot Town FC have struggled with attendance figures over the past few seasons. I know Aldershot are not alone in this struggle and my research aims to find out why fans are not attending games.

I am asking football fans up and down the country to take a maximum of 5 minutes of their time to fill in a short questionnaire. I will be sending the results of my research to football clubs in England so by doing this you will be helping English football clubs improve the match day experience for fans!

Please follow the link below to complete the questionnaire.

    Thank you.

I have been an exile from Plymouth all my adult life (I'm 75yrs old) so some of my answers on your survey don't really tell the whole story.

Argyle being the furthest south west team in England travel more miles by far than any other club in the FL.

Yet away support is quite incredible seeing how we have dropped into the 4th tier of league football and survived administration in recent years.

If you multiply the the distance travelled by the fans that travel to each away game.....you would find that not many clubs come near the dedicated away mileage support that Argyle can muster......of course your survey will not show any of that........maybe your asking the wrong questions.

PS.......Punchdrunk is not an average fan in any ones viewpoint.

By penny pinching he means Brent spending his cash for the sake of Punchdrunk when Punchdrunk objects to spending any of his own cash on the Football club. He and his band of people who can "see through" the scam think that Brent is there for their convenience and entertainment and few of the said band spend any of their own money. He has to have somebody to hate or his life isn't complete. He only posts on this forum to get a reaction and because there is precious little going on at the forum of first choice which is ATD. You will find around 15 grumpy old blokes on there who just agree with each other and call everyone else who doesn't agree a troll or worse. Like the other Argyle forum which is pasoti, they now ban people for disagreeing with them. Not606 doesn't and is the only forum to have that policy. You are allowed to disagree politely on here. Politeness is something Punchdrunk doesn't understand. There again he is a bit thick.

You may say that Joe but I couldn't possibly comment........

He is only over here because ATD is deader than a dead fish. They have a thread on there talking about this forum being dead when their forum's most busy subject is either a word game or Peggy's Mundane. That's with 550 members as well. He needs somebody to fight with or he can't sleep bless him. Either that or he's doing his pet poodle bit for others. He is a good little soldier and likes to be on the side of the supposed educated on there. Easily impressed don't you know.

He must be into necrophillia the amount of dead things he is into then. I told you he was deluded. He was democratically elected (allegedly) as a Mod over there and ran amok in the Modroom deleting people and stuff. "Only truely democratic" yea course it is, you can say what you like on there only if you do you get hounded and banned. There is more democracy in North Korea.

Normally if I hurt someone's feelings I'd apologise right here and now.

How do you think the Swansea game will go?

Swansea should hammer us. There again you would expect them to hammer us so it isn't going to be that much of a shock if they do.

To be fair he is right about people agreeing with punchdrunk and his views. Problem is not many of them are on here so think he posted on the wrong board. And trust me he is a total wan ker with or without a mirror. Anyone who stands for Moderator and then uses that position to their own ends is not to be considered normal or worth listening to.

3- 0 to Swansea ain't that bad considering. I did think about changing my stance on pre-season friendlies and actually going to this one but then bought a shed and had to put it up and wash my hair. The hair washing too about 20 seconds which was to find it but the shed took bleddy hours.

Yea found that out when I actually looked elsewhere later. Still not exactly unexpected having said that. It will teach me not to believe everything Plym says in future.

I don't look at time of postings so didn't spot that either. You should be used to getting blamed anyway having been married for the 50 (I spotted elsewhere). I'm a novice as I'm only up to 45 next week. I was a child bride however....
