In protest at the treatment of Suarez and FA corruption. It's a shight contest anyway, and if we win both cups and finish sixth it will allow the Blues a place; miniscule recompense for '85, but at least a gesture.

Why would the FA care if we decline entry to a cup managed by UEFA?

Sorry but people that think it's a ****e competition get on my tits. It's an excellent tournament but for some reason people in this country seem to belittle it, sums up the PL mentality.

Enter it, play it, win it <ok>

Sorry, I understand your feelings but don't think it is a good idea. If we want to dine at footballs top table we need to do certain things to get there. Whilst the europey league is not the greatest competition it does still keep us on the radar in terms of other players, sponsors etc.
The early rounds should also provide invaluable game time and european experience for younger players etc and usually offer cheap and easy chances for kids and irregular visitors to at anfield.

Just think we's get more publicity and attention for our sponsors by doing this. And anything that throws light on the FA and its misdeeds is good.

Yes, I have thought it through. I don't think the club - and its charlatan, double-speak owners - should EVER let the Suarez lynching die-down.

The media would still spin it as "the club defending racism". Remember the truth is no defence.

You're flogging a dead horse on the Suarez thing, mate. The FA aren't going to develop a conscience all of a sudden, and we'd only be pilloried further.

When we dropped into last year I wanted us to win it, some do some don't. I could never understand not wanting to win every competition your in.

This would just throw up a huge **** storm, I mean I don't mind being the most hated Club in the PL but to do this would be just ridiculous. Anyway, the common sense in those that run the club will not even consider it anyway so I guess this is a pointless discussion.

The group stages are a total joke but you can get away with playing a mix of reserves and fringe players in the group stages. Im gald we are in it because it might give us the chance to get young players like Sterling, Suso or Coady some first team experience.

I don't like the structure and think that needs changing, but yes, we should definitely be in it.

This is a tournament we should be taking seriously. IT may not be the Champions League but it still European football and it is another 'incentive' to lure the better players to the club.

European football, Carling Cup Winners and FA Cup Finalists - easier to sell the club to potential signings.

And as mentioned above, gives the youngsters a chance to experience European football and everything that is entails.

In fairness UEFA have done a decent job of ****ing up what was once a great tournament but I agree 100% that surely we still want to win it <ok> I love being in Europe and as far as I'm concerned being in it is better than not being in Europe at all. Had we been in it this year would we have been able to see a bit more of the likes of Coates, Robinson, Cody or Sterling? Quite possibly.

And it's still a glorious looking trophy :)
