i cannot believe this team and this manager. I am gobsmacked and this is the happiest Xmas I will have had for a dozen years at least. Stats declare that the team top on Xmas day always go up which I took with a pinch of salt. After being 2-0 down to a powerful, mainly Premiership side with pace and skill you would think game over. Bielsa has done something that says foook it we can still do this. Clarke what a prospect, Pontus what a MOM performance and Roofe what a season. I take my hat off and declare we are going up as we can obviously give anyone a couple of goals start and still make them look ordinary. We can have a team of kids representing the club, we can have more injuries than an injury farm and still win, we can have top defenders injured in warm up and still beat top clubs. Makes no difference how many times Dean Smith whines and moans and crys, he still loses to this squad and coach. I never gave Saiz a thought oop worrying about replacing a player who only played half the games played this season. We su bring in at top striker and a top midfielder to make sure we have cover for Brown and Bamford. But otherwise I am confident its done at long last
I'm not going to get carried away. I'm just happy enjoying my football. However, i must comment that not only are we 6 points clear of the Baggies in 3rd, but more interestingly, we're 13 points ahead of Florist in 7th. Quite a satisfying safety cushion for any blip (I hope).
With Man City suffering a shock defeat, means Liverpool are 4 points clear at the top of the EPL. Looks like they'll be champions again... The last time Leeds United gained promotion to the top tier of English football was 1989/90 when we won the old second division... Guess who won the 1st division that season ?
Stats also show that no team has failed to get promoted if they average 2.6 points a game betweeen 1st December and 1st January and at 4 games in we're averaging 3 points a game.
**** stats **** everything, we are LEEDS UNITED and we always shoot ourselves in the foot. Saying that, I haven't been this happy about a result since we beat the blades 3.2
Hell yeah i had forgotten we were without Saize.I just hope i am not gonna wake up in a minute and that today was just a dream. Best 45 min of football iv'e seen from a Leeds side since the Revie/wilkinson/o'leary era's
If ever there was a thread to tempt fate and jinx it this is it As a Leeds fan and as you grow older, it becomes harder to feel 100 percent happy; you learn all the things that can go wrong, you become superstitious about tempting fate, about bringing disaster upon the season by accidentally feeling too good one day.
Maybe a bit of positivity is what we have missed all these years. Sorry mate but I’ve been around longer than many on here and this is the first time since Wilko that I felt confident. Under DoL you knew wit would end and under Grayson you knew we had Bates so wasnt going to happen. 48 points from 23 games Top on games won Top on goals difference Playing with the smallest squad Playing with half the first team out ijured Playing with the kids as back up Playing with heart and passion Playing decent football Making sulky managers moan 6 wins on the spin not done since 2009 under Gayson This season is different to any I have ever experienced
I am not claiming an equivalence in ability, but there is a feeling watching this team that’s a bit like watching the early Revie team.
Essex is right, we shouldn't be counting any chickens. But we should be milking nights like tonight for every last fecking drop of feelgood, it's long overdue for a patient and loyal fan base, and whatever happens the rest of the season Radz, Bielsa and this group of players have earned us the right to celebrate now. please log in to view this image
Totally agree 2020, I said ways back there's similarities to Revies style of football...................did I just say that?...............medic, medic.
After yesterday you have to say the footballing gods are on our side. We are now only 9 points off our total points from last season with half the season to go. One other thing is that when you look at the league table for 2018 that ****er Heckingbottom was so bad that Leeds are in 6th place....
We're 9 points ahead of where we were this time last season. We then only took 4 of the next available 27 points - P9 W0 D4 L5. Anything more is a big bonus for me. Btw, why did I feel more euphoria at the Villa score than yesterday's?
