So Jazz Richards has gone on loan for 3 months to Huddersfield. Ki has gone to Sunderland. We have named I believe a 22 man squad for the first half of the season. I don't understand either of these deals. Both have seemed great to me when called upon. Jazz maybe could do a 'Ben' if given the chance. Ki was the most accurate passer in the premier league last year in a report possibly on Talksport. We have shed loads of games coming up it all seems strange to me. Not knocking the decisions, I just don't understand them.
It was Opta who said he was the most accurate passer, maybe Laudrup isn't happy about something in training such as attitude?
They both need more games than we could give them, Ki as a world cup coming up and Jazz for development. Common sense to let them go on loan really. Better to have a smaller happy squad than good players not being played and possibly causing a negative influence because of that.
Maybe Ki didn't respond well to competition, had a sulk and a moan about not getting enough minutes and was told fine, go and play....we'll give you a call when we need you. Jazz is a direct result of Tiendalli eventually signing...I'll bet he's got a recall clause in there, just a way of getting him games....however the time is getting very close when we/he has to decide if he should remain at Swansea. IMO, as long as he's happy going out on loan and being back-up here....fine (he's local, loves the club and is useful for our HG quota), but he will never reach his full potential this way and in the meantime we are using up wages that could be spent somewhere else.
I can see Jazz for development angle, but I don't really get the Ki loan. As a squad player he hits the nail on the head for me.
It would be interesting to know if there have been any problems with Ki. As for Jazz, I agree games are good. But as for letting him go I am not so sure. He can't be on big wages and is great cover. Maybe I am too soft, I think Ki, Jazz and Tiendali are all great cover. Dare I say it on here, but I even like De Guzman. I am puzzled by the criticism he gets on here.
Ki was messed about by laudrup. the lad never had a chance and was fed up playing out of position all the time. good on ki i say, he never joined us to play like that....Laudrup has some strange ways about him and it won't do us us much good if he keeps on with his odd ball management ideas.
What position do you think Ki is beat at Dai. I have liked him in all the roles he has been asked to play. I can't remember which game it was last year, but Ki was playing in the back four (It might have been the Leauge cup final) and he was so disciplined in not going forward. I think he is an intelligent footballer. When he was playing more advanced, his lack of goals let him down. I wish he pulled the trigger more often.
Ki wanted a regular starting birth and wasn't prepared to be a bench/squad player. Ki wants to give himself the best opportunity for international selection for next years world cup and being a squad player wouldn't help him; especially with Cardiff's Kim Bo looking so good. In my opinion Ki's decent off the bench but only decent in patches when starting. During 90 minutes he tends to lose concentration and the ball too often. How many times have we screamed "Man on" at Ki when he's been too slow, got hunted down and tackled by a tenacious midfield. Presently, imo, Ki is 2nd midfielder on the bench at best with Britton, Canas, Shelvey, Pozuello, even De Guzman [because of his dead ball proficiency] and obviously Michu, all ahead of him. Due to the intense competition, Laudrup couldn't/wouldn't promise Ki regular selection so an amicable compromise was reached giving Ki his opportunity elsewhere. Laudrup has not messed him about but has understood his predicament, coming up with an astute and intelligent solution. Re Jazz, he is maturing nicely but still needs to continue developing. He can't quite break into the team yet so loaning him out continues his development and the short nature of the loan shows him that his future remains with us. Both have built in recall clauses so I don't see any negatives in either scenario.
Probably going to get slated for this, but I just dont think Jazz is good enough for the PL or ever will be. (just my opinion). He went out on loan to Palace last year and after a few games struggled to get a game there. Yes he is home grown and I would love him to suceed, but i just dont see it at the moment. The 3 months he spends at Huddersfield will only help him providing he gets game time. This will be a big season for his development and his Swans future I feel.
Ki is loaned out to reduce the wage bill so Swansea could sign another striker, without getting in conflict with the Financial Fair Play that only allows a 15% rise in total wagecosts/expences. Second Ki was not Laudrups transfer/player, he doesn't suit the system. There is nothing oddball in this loan: he's surplus to the squad...
It makes me cringe when i hear fans making excuses for the managers actions as the player is always in the wrong, The old favorites is he and the manager did not get on, or he was sent out on loan to reduce the wage bill blah blah blah....We all know what a good player he is and its been said on here many times that the lad is playing out of position, we have heard fans say he is a good player so why think its his fault he has left the club ......we know our manager was a world class player but an odd ball manager that some of his decisions baffle some of the most ardent fans of football anywhere... the thing is i'm not afraid to say it as i have been and seen managers come and go for years and i know when i see a manager who is trying hard but makes some very odd decisions that indicates he is not really 100% capable of knowing what he is doing..
Whatever the case there can be little doubt that he played out of position in practically every game for us. He was played in the JDG role (and even the Michu role) at Celtic and flourished there. Not his fault.
exactly KJ and what is that all about if its not strange, Its our loss at the end of the day and the merchandise that will surely dwindle or stop now.....
