The world cup in Qatar will take place in winter. Its now official. This obviously hampers the league game, especially in England so how do we play this. The whole season will be effected as will the following season. It could, in theory, have a knock in effect that lasts for years. I can see no benefit for the English team and I imagine fans will be more than disappointed to see our traditional Christmas fixtures wiped out. If this was about a winter break perhaps there's positives but for a competition, in a corrupt and unsavoury nation, with zero footballing heritage, no. Its just wrong. So. Are you happy about this?
BTW, the final will be Qatar v North Korea. Nothing corrupt about that, honest. Two best sides in the world.
The whole thing's an insult. The fact that it's still going ahead, despite being so obviously bent, tells you exactly what FIFA thinks of the fans.
I actually think it will help England (not that we will win obviously). Will be played when we are physically at our best before fatigue sets in. That said I would boycott the whole mess for the corrupt debacle it is.
I would like to see us host a competition and select 23 randomers to go. They wont win a single game but we cover our arsed and send a side but at the same time give a huge finger to Fifa and the Qatar world cup.
The players will be knackered for years. Prr season will be slashed the following summer and you also have qualifiers for the euros to take onto account the following 2 years. There's a reason its always been held on the close season.
I'm not going to watch it, if people can't be bothered to even go to that length they should shut the **** up about the corruption involved in this whole sham.
I agree, just for the period of the World Cup, England will be fresher to play in that actual tournament. The knock on effects are horrendous though.
I shall not be watching it either. I'm genuinely hoping the PL grows some balls and continues the league. The players should take a stand and refuse to go anyway, the whole thing is disgracing the game and nobody with the influence to do anything, seems bothered. It would be fantastic if a huge PL game (or La Liga game) could be scheduled for 18/12/22. Say United v Liverpool or Madrid v Barcelona. No matter the world cup finalists, nobody would be watching. It will happen though, just a fantasy.
Surely you can hold out another 11 years. Just think, William will write you a letter. Well it might be Liz bit I doubt it will be readable by then.
We need more people boycotting this to be honest.... ...will make it easier for me to get some tickets
