Sup?! I wanted to make a thread as 1: I rarely do it and 2: I wanted to use fancy voting buttons!

With the imminent arrival of Debuchy, what are Gooners feelings on him joining? I personally think it's a great signing. Not flashy perhaps but a very solid addition that I think will slot right in.

*Disclaimer if we don't sign him - ballbags.

Not sure any of the poll answers fit my view. He is a good addition but most certainly not great. Sanchez is a GREAT addition, Debuchy is no more than good. Also it would be good to see Jenkinson go out on loan to get a full season under his belt.

I think he's a very good signing - of course not the best, and not as good as Sagna (such a shame we lost him). It's also very good to get this signing done early on in the window rather than later, and noises (or b*** rumours who knows) that we're looking to further strengthen the RB position.

But the options seem to be Great, Awful, Should Have Done Better and Don't Need Anyone (as we have Jenkinson)

I'd say the voting buttons are a bit restrictive, but I voted Great as it's the closest to good there is.

I think he's a good solid addition to the squad and will ease the blow of Sagna leaving as he has prem experience already. Seems to be sorted nice and early as well. Good work from the club.

I'd be happy to see us get a loan option for rb as well and loan out jenkinson to get a full season under his belt.

    He's a good signing.

Better than Sagna though.... probably not.

Not to kick a man when he's down, but you should have made it a public poll <whistle>

He has an expression that looks a little like someone just told him his dog has died, but indeed here he is in an Arsenal shirt:

Wenger has said in an interview on Arsenal.com that Debuchy will be fighting for a place with Jenkinson who will 'compete' for that spot.

Sounds like Jenks is going to be with us next season and will get games

    So our squad looks like:

    -------Szcz---------
    Debuchy--Kosc--mert--Gibbs
    -------Arteta-Ramsey----
    Walcott--ozil--Sanchez
    ----------giroud------

    -------???--------
    Jenk--verm--??--monreal
    ------flamini---wilshere--
    Oxo----Cazorla---pod
    ---------Campbell----

With rosicky, diaby, gnabry, Sanogo in there as well.

Although we could play with alternative line ups to the ones I've done it's good for showing squad depth. We could do with an Arteta improvement eg khedira or bender, but otherwise we need to sign a back up keeper (ospina rumours seem to be on going) and figure out the situation with the verminator to figure out if we need another cb. I'm still hoping we bring in another striker too unless Sanchez is going to be rotating up top with giroud in which case we might be stocked ok at the front.

I have a feeling wenger wants to play Cazorla-Sanchez-Walcott as our attacking trio with Ozil pulling the strings

Would be a physically tiny forward line though. Not sure how it would fair against some of the more robust EPL teams.

    Personally would prefer..

    Walcott-----Giroud------Sanchez

Giroud would create a lot of space for Sanchez and Walcott to exploit. Also we can get 20+ goals from each of those players.(providing they stay fit)

He's a cracking player. Wish he'd stopped here, but we've got an equally good replacement in Janmaat.

Better than Sagna? Probably. The French manager thinks so as well. <ok>

    Well I hope so.

Looks like you guys landed a good replacement. Janmaat looks like a quality addition was impressed with him at the WC.
