After many discussions with my bro about Mr Debuchy we have come to the conclusion that he simply is not good enough for the premiership.

He has flashes of average quality going forward but defensively hes is a complete liability.

I dont think I have seen one game where I actually thought he played well.

Initially I put it down to him being new to the premiership but now I just think he is crap.

Simpson was by far better (I cannot believe I am saying that) at defending. Debuchy constantly causes fouls, gives away needless freekicks. He dwells on the ball. His passing is aweful at times.

    Anyone else of this opinion?

I like what I have seen from Simpson at QPR so far, he has put in decent performances
Of course it is a bit different playing against City than Huddersfield

Can I suggest you change the question.

    It should be.

It's obvious he's better at attacking than defending, but that creates a problem since our right-side is balanced enough to fill in when he bombs forward.

I'd like to give the guy a chance but these are desperate times and we could lose matches as a result.

I have always thought that Debuchy is no better than Danny Simpson, and last showed me that I have rated Debuchy far too highly. That goal by Nasri said it all.

I couldnt believe what I saw when he lumbered up to make an attempt at getting the ball.

    Nasri must have thought WTF.

I really do think we have got rid of the better right back!

Tbh i barely can see his worth in attack. No better cross than Simmo means we floggged a better defender for newt and spent millions on one closer to retirement. The attempts to turn every position at this club French was never guna go well when we have a yearly chance of being dragged into relelgation, and if i dont see an improvement in the next cupla games i expect to see more of the same as last season

I agree I don't think I've seen him have a good game yet.

His biggest problem is his lack of pace, that shows him up badly defensively and going forward he struggles to get by players. It wasn't just the goal last night though, they could easily have had a penalty against him and his temperament just stinks.

Simpson wasn't the best in his position, but he had the nous to be in the right place at times.

Debuchy could go down as being one of the worst buys in a long time.

I would prefer for him to get his act together and start performing and show he's better than what he's shown to date.

Perhaps Santon at RB and Dummett at LB is a possibility? Will Santon be fit for West Ham?

    Couldn't do any worse.

The way Dummett played, he deserves a chance.
If Santon is fit play him at RB.

You though that just isn't going to happen if santon is fit then he'll play LB and Debuchy RB

I realise that, but it may be an option if need be.

Lets face it, the way Debuchy is going about, there is a fair chance a suspension will be coming his way at some time.

I would rather he got his act together, and proved his doubters wrong and we wouldn't be discussing c*** like this.

I don't understand when I saw him play for France he was a beast. As soon as he comes to SJP he can't do anything.

I guess it must be the coaching or something.

Also I will judge him on how well he deals with Jarvis this weekend that should be a good battle.

Hopefully a better performance to and a new signing as well ;)

Dubuchy has been a major disappointment. I agree think we should play Dummett at LB and Santon at RB (If he's fit - if not, can we have Taverier back please?)

Hopefully 'pass Debuchy' will do one now his "football fwend" is off...

Stick Santon at RB and keep Dummett in the team. But it won't happen, makes too much footballing sense for Pardew to compute.

My eyes are telling me differently but I think we have to give him time. The big problem with him is he is one of many lightweights who just can't cope with the PL at present.

Really can't see Debuchy's demeanour and temperament improving if Cabaye moves on. From the looks of it DeBuchy will simply down tools or manufacture a suspension.
The prospect of his close friend moving on must be making him feel prettyshitty right now
