David O'Leary is the bookies' favourite, but Steve Cotterill, Gary Megson and Windass are all 'in the running'. http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.u...ss-Sheffield/story-20113932-detail/story.html
Scunthorpe said yesterday that they are not talking to David O'Leary and have no idea where that link came from.
Windass would be a disaster as a manager. He's no experience and I don't think he could handle the pressure.
And on the other hand, IF (you'll notice that's a BIG if ) he was successful, he would probably have even more of a problem coping with that. Sad, but true.
Aye it does worry me what happens to him. But then i see him in a pub acting like a cock. But still I'd be happy if we took him on and gave him some coaching duties and visit schools etc promoting us.
Agree with this... I was wondering if perhaps Daws (with Deano and/or Ash as assistant) might be a 'behind the doors' discussion for Swan the chairman. Player/manager in what is still effectively division four wouldn't be a bad shout. Maybe Daws could be the Scunts Warren Joyce? (ah...the memories...)
Kinnell Deano? Apparently Kenny Sansom, Gary Charles and Gazza are also in the running. As much as we love the fella he's just not management material. Like Chazzington says, some kind of role coaching the kids could be just what he needs.
