Bruce should send them some of our kids as a symbol of goodwill after we got Aluko for nothing. Bryan Hughes is kicking around doing nothing too he ought to go up there

Wouldn't want any of our reserves playing in Scotland's lower divisions, I would imagine its a very poor standard

Not sure on that as we've sent our kids to the likes of Brid Town over the years

It's not great, but I agree with BFT, we should send a couple up there for a season long loan as a gesture of good will. Not sure how it would work under the transfer embargo, but interestingly, you can have up to 3 trialists playing in any competitive game, so they could go on a season long trial?

Lewis Clarkson could finish the season with 48 goals, Jonny Margetts with 37 and 49 assists

Trialists can't play in competitive games can they?

Given that they won't be able to sign anyone in January or next Summer, I think they'll be after decent players to get them their first couple of promotions. Deano, ***an and our youth players don't exactly qualify IMO.

Theyre not going to attract quality players to that league

In the SFL they can, a limit of up to three (or four) in the matchday squad. Unless they've changed the rules. I think it's to do with the fact that it's semi-pro, so it doesn't really matter.

No, but I don't see why they couldn't attract some of the Scottish First Division's better players. They'd be back in that league within two years and by then would be able to sign more players to get them back into the SPL. I admit it sounds a lot easier in theory than it will be in practice, but still...

Everyone is so certain tht Rangers will get promoted all the way to the top again immediately but how certain is that? What is their team going to be like?

I'm not saying that they're definitely going to get promoted straight away, and certainly not with the players they currently have. I'm saying that a club like that should be able to sign any player it wants from within the Scottish leagues (within reason), and that attracting quality ones should enable them to get back into the SPL by 2015.

I know what you're saying, but will they have any money to pay decent players? It seems a bit of a Leeds situation to me, where everyone says they are big and deserve to be higher up but if they don't have good players or money to get good players, what actually sets them apart from the other lowly teams in the SFL? Crowds obviously, but how much will it help them financially? I don't know the answer to that it's a genuine question which Ricardo might be able to answer.

I'm sure there'll be some money available, and besides, I doubt that part-time SFL players cost that much anyway <laugh>

It would be good to see Deano get a good job somewhere in football.
He's a decent bloke who's given a lot to the game and deserves something to go right for him.

Depending on how many fans stick with them, a single home game for them will bring in more income than a season worth of home games for any of the other clubs in that league.

I agree Craig, he's a Tigers legend and hope he manages to sort himself out. My mate got me a signed copy of his book when he was working in Waterstones, wouldn't give it away for the world and don't know how many times I've seen 'that' volley now on Youtube!
