Hammond signs 3-Year contract on OS now good news, i doubted him before the season but he has been superb and is fully deserving of this, only leaves Bart now as 1st teamers in last year if im right?
I always said he was underrated and I said he could make it in this league and I got laughed at. Who's laughing now...?
there were a few of us singing Deano's praises. So undervalued in our side it is unbelieveable. I am very happy he has got a new deal.
Shows determination of Saints to get stability back into this club which has been sadly lacking. Also shows how the players are convinced that we are going places and that their contribution is appreciated.
Have to say he has grown massively since last season, and the only bad part of that is he's keeping Spiderman out of the team!
Usually want a player to sign before the last year of his contract, which will come sooner than you think.
Well deserved - he struggled at the start of last season along with the rest of the team and then he had injuries too but since the turn of the year he has been awesome.
Have to admit I am not a Hammond fan........For me most of last season he struggled.....although there was improvement towards the end of the campaign. He has progressed some this season too......not as much as I would have hoped though. Prefer Chaplow in the side to Hammond.....but there you go just an opinion. I am glad he is staying though, he can still improve even more.
better at what though? Passing? pinging a ball 40 yards? threading the ball through the eye of a needle? Yes, agreed Morgan is better at those. However, need to grind out a midfield battle? need to get box to box for 90 minutes? need to break up the oppositions flow? Then Deano is "better". Horses for courses.
100% agree. Think he's a cracking player and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Saints published their pro-zone stats that Deano covers more ground per game than anyone else.
With Deano/Cork we have the perfect duo. Hammond isnt afraid to get stuck in and every team needs someone like that in the Center. Then throw is Spiderman/Chaplow/Holmes/Lallana and it makes you realise how lucky we are!
