Well done Deano. I've always liked him ever since he arrived. He works so hard for the team. First one to arrive at training and last one to leave everytime. He keeps himself in great shape, he's a family man and has a quiet modest lifestyle. Other players in the team aspire to be like him without doubt - That makes him a great captain. He leads by example and he's a shining pro.

Good player, who makes the most of what he is, and is a very good Captain too. Martin Keown said in his Pompey commentary, that Saints have clever players, and he noticed the midfield were often changing their formation to bamboozle Pompey. Well, I understand that Deano often calls those shots, and he doesn't look as if he's lacking a footballing brain either.

I have been a critic, but he's proved me wrong massively this season, top effort, charisma, attitude and the goal against Leeds <3

I like the way he said it was a privilege to play for the club..wish a few more footballers had that attitude. Good man.

Quite modest? He bought furniture off eBay from one of my neighbours, hardly the typical footballer lifestyle. Seems like a good guy and clearly a top professional even if he's not one of the best technical footballers we'll ever see. Certainly an important member of the team and I'm proud to have him.

I've never rated him much, but he does work ever so hard on and off the pitch and according to reports by some of the users on here,he is a family man and leads a very modest lifestyle which is nice to see.He has proven me and many others wrong and will continue to do so,he may not be technically gifted like other players but he shows a lot of passion and endeavour when he plays for us and that's something that not all players can do(all the time)

Amazing how quickly you can rack up 100 appearances if you're virtually ever-present in the team. Fantastic example to the younger players with his commitment. Top man.
