Just wondering if it was a mistake letting him go. He had a nightmare against Leicester this season but to be fair nobody played well that game and we shouldn't judge him by that performance, Especially after the shift he put in towards the end of last season and was a big part of our survival. He isn't as bad as some make him out to be and I would have thought he was good enough to keep as a back up in league 1. I hope someone snaps him up, He was a decent bloke and a decent keeper.

The problem is he offered no value for money. He was on about £6k a week apparently and played 1 game this season so u might as well of had a youngster sat u the bench for a tenth of that.

I always thought it was odd that when he arrived he said that his goal was to play top flight football and play for england and for the last 3 years he has sat on the bench so where did his drive go? As you are never going to achieve what he wanted sat on the bench and he even signed a contract 2 years ago whilst behind James in the pecking so shows he was happy playing second fiddle and when James left they brought in Heaton again showing the club did not have faith in him being our number one which when he had his chance this year he dropped the ball, a few times.

I just wish many years ago the club would have sold Gerken and had kept Henderson who would and should have been our number 1

He has cost us a lot of wages over the four years he's been here; if the salary mentioned above is correct that is about £1.25 million for someone who has been stuck on a bench for most of that time.
Has he been value for money at that salary? NO
Has he improved as a keeper in his time here? Very little if at all.
Is he likely to significantly improve if he stays at City? NO
If he was under contract, would another club offer a substantial fee for him? NO

And the same answers would apply for a few others at the club and as outfield players their salary might possibly be higher than £6k per week.

So why is it even posted as a thread for discussion? The answer is a definite NO-BRAINER!

And Andy is right about Henderson; another bad decision at BCFC in the last five years.

Hard to argue with that Andy <ok> plus after SOD said he only wants 18-20 pros at the club next year and the under 21s will have to fill in when there is injuries I don't think we will have 3 keepers at the club. Might just be Heaton and Castanheira as number 2. All of which I have heard great things of.

Henderson left because he could see there was no chance he would feature regularly - the one game I did see him play for us, he was very good, I think he came on against Cardiff when Basso was put in the stand...?

I'm still pissed that we let go of Henderson. Gerken should have played more for us too, but aside from the season where he took over from Basso he's not had the opportunity to do anything.
