I know cardiff fans were even saying we should go up, it was the norwich fans that were desperate for a points deduction and thats one of the reasons why we hate them. That and the fact they have a team of cheats.
I have to say that having read through a couple of threads (one here, one on the Swans board) that I am truly amazed at the amount of abuse that has been thrown about. I find it disgusting and feel no need to post on either thread...it is a real shame that people feel the need to trade insults in such a fashion. I know we are not all the same and some are easily offended, so I sympathise with them and their need to retaliate. Good OP RTID...There are clearly going to be a number of WUM threads/posts kicking about over the next few months with it looking more and more likely that we are going down. I guess the best policy is to ignore it and take it on the chin. As long as the mods keep our house in order and keep it to friendly banter, then it should all be taken in good spirits (as much as possible anyway!!). Unfortunately the last couple of days have gone way beyond friendly banter and personally I believe they should have been stopped. I was trying to stay out of the whole saga but there is one particular Swans poster who, based on a number of posts, should be permanently banned. Completely disgusting posts with no moderation at all. He is insighting hatred and agruments between both sets of fans and a large number of people are buying into it (on both sides). A real shame, especially when you consider that youngsters visit and read these boards. I guess I would just repeat that the best course of action is to try and rise above it all and ignore it...easier said than done at times, but more often than not the best course of action. Either that, or get stuck into some good friendly banter and do your best to keep it that way...

Can you blame them ... of course not. This board is entertainment that's all we should welcome them all onto it. We dish it out then learn how to take it ... or ignore it. The mindset of our posters on here is embarrassing. These things can't ever get to you when you realise your own mind and how to step out of it: Come on down if feel you have all posters from the universe ... lets play ... it's entertainment bring it on i have a mind ready full of nematodes
Interesting and poignant thread topic RTID. From a Mod viewpoint, sure we had sufficient reason to get busy banning wum/disrespectful outsiders from our board over the weekend. So why did we choose not to? Well mainly cos we've seen nothing that's particularly outrageous to the extent of being unacceptable; and we received no formal complaints from any of our posters. Also cos the fact is, some of our lot ARE apt to give it the big-un when things are looking good and from a mod perspective we need to be respected for our preparedness to take a hit when the boot's on the other foot. Then there's the opportunity for those of us that feel the need to get the frustrations of poor team performance off our chests by hitting back at the perceived 'enemy'. Hasten to add, personally I don't feel the need but as I've said before, this board's not about me is it? Have to cater for all sorts. At the end of the day, football's about which clubs are better than which and atm that clearly rules us right out of the equation. Big up to Swans, Norwich, Reading and so on for getting right everything we've got wrong. We'll be back and when that happens I dare say some of us will be crowing just like our current adversaries. Don't want them gaining the moral high ground saying we couldn't take the incoming when we were on the back foot. For what it's worth, hope that explains the mod's take. Well done Brix That's what makes you a top Mod and others not. I will, as i have before obey the rules of our forum and if i 'step over the mark' I know we have the people here to have a quiet word. And of course will always be respectful of your comments.
The big difference is I wont complain if someone posts 99% good stuff and then calls me a dick. However some of the other teams posters post nothing but drivel which is why they should be banned. Not everyone, just 1 or 2. Opposing fans should be modded differently to our own fans IMO and Id expect the same if our fans went on other teams boards.
I was going to write great post when I read Oddball's but then I came to Brix' and that took the award. Calling for bans for people is childish. If you don't like what someone writes, tough. You can either ignore them or challenge them. That's what a Forum is all about. Obviously there's a line but some posters only want to read stuff that they agree with and then call for teacher when someone is being bold. If the Mods start banning all visiting WUMS, I can guarantee that come the end of the season (should we go down) they'll have banned half of the entire not606 Site. As COL said, be prepared for an onslaught. And for Christ's sake take it on the chest like a man rather than squealing to the Moderators. (P.S. Good OP, RTID mate)
I know I should probably keep quiet, but honestly! That is just not the case (of course there will always be clueless people who are exceptions). This has all been said before, but the reality was that the majority of Norwich fans would have been upset to win the title that way. We were just overjoyed at getting promotion so soon after enduring the awful seasons in the recent history of the club. You were the best team during the season, and deserved your rewards. Why do you continue to fuel a hatred that just doesn't exist for the majority? I've only ever, to my knowledge, posted on this board with due respect - not all have, that's the nature of forums like this sometimes, rather sadly. I like the ability to post across other boards, preferably without quotes from volume one of the stereotype insults. Certain posters from many boards due this on a regular basis, I just don't see the point. Having said this, the OP, and many of the replies, were good to see.
First off, thanks for the positive responses to my bit above. Just goes to show we're all on the same page with what's fair and proportionate atm. Given the fact that for the most part we're all disparate internet virtuals here to chat Rangers, we've ALL worked hard over the past year or so on finding an accord on the basis to our slightly restricted freedom of speech. Big respect to you all for that. To RTID. Your OP was perfectly well thought out, presented and abundantly clear. As it happens there was nothing in it to suggest it was in any way mod critical. However, it would've equally good if it had questioned our lack of reaction this weekend. (NUTS did post on one thread but made clear from the outset it was as a standard poster and not as a mod.) Fact is, as mods we're here for you, not the other way round. If we couldn't take valid criticism from our fellow board members, we'd have no right to continue as your mods.

It was on the old 606 board and before you won promotion at Pompey. Trust me our board and yours was flooded with Norwich fans wanting a points deduction. I won't forget that but i don't 'tar you all with the same brush'. on another Forum (Reading Hob nob?) they had over 1000 posts wanting us to get relegated and 'go bust'. Funny they are saying the same now, but they are not a real club/real fans so i don't look at them as i do Norwich. No we all have clubs we don't like, mine is Chelsea and i always smile when the lose and laugh at their plastic fans down the pub but i would never want to see them get 'Liquidated' even though i dislike them. Had may many debates (arguments) with them on here but would never say anything like 'i hope they go bust' quotes that i have seen on here about us. No true football fan would ever want a club to go bust, that's why i hope Pompey sort themselves out.
I would be lying if I said I was not thinking of you when I posted that!! How's it hanging? Just remember, so far my predictions are spot on apart from City of all teams letting us down! I predicted a draw at St Mary's in March too. A litte less confidant about that now sadly. We seem to have a funny link with City - great home game last season, the end of season drama and a well desrved draw this season at home. Perhaps it is written we will do them a favour by being a bananna skin for Man U? I know, the men in white coats are not too far away!!
