Well the day has arrived, lets hope for some nice surprises, ie bony still here, a right back and a solid dm player coming in, then after the loonacy of the transfer window has gone we can all relax and enjoy the football

i hate transfer deadline day, always a worry as to who may be coveted by the big spenders and this D-Day looks particularly fraught. i would happily forego any new faces coming in as long as none of our regulars leave.

I hope we can get some senior players in, Amy Lewis from SSN said we're in for two today but we're not desperate

Man Utd look like loaning Falcao, wouldnt be surprised to see Welbeck loaned to Arsenal and then Bony should definitely be staying with us. Barrow looks a good 3rd choice option with potential too.

    Micah Richards to Fiorentina?

Looking forward to seeing what Falcao can do in the Prem. Risky move for his reputation though.

Liverpool's Sebastan Coates is going on loan to Sunderland.
Lucas Leiva seems to be on his way out also.

Man U's Shinji Kagawa is going back to Borussia Dortmund.
Javier Hernandez going on loan to Real Madrid.

QPR's Loic Remy joined Chelsea for £10.5m.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are rumoured to be looking to spend money today.

Burnley have signed George Boyd from Hull.

Everton have sold young Irish centre-half Shane Duffy to Blackburn Rovers.

    Stamboulli to join Spurs today.

A Bony transfer today would have to clear FIFA - wouldn't it? Time is against a move.

I like Ekotto over Naughton as a player...but he's 30, has had knee problems and has just spent last season playing in the Championship.

Naughton is 25, Home-grown, covers RB and LB and has been playing in Spurs' 1st team (20 prem appearances last season, 11 in Europa, 1 in Cup....+ a start this season)

    Maybe Naughton has more potential?

I agree, but the different UEFA / FIFA leagues have different season start dates, so it is impossible to have an international deadline day for each individual national FA. I think the only exceptions are leagues that start and finish in the same calendar year (normally due to weather / daylight contraints e.g. norway).

I do however agree that it makes sense to move the window so that it finishes before ANY national league starts (with exceptions as stated above). However I think I am right in saying this would then mean the window would be open for some leagues before the end of the season....

So the solution is get everyone to one venue on ONE day and each club have a stall each to sell their players 'del-boy' style. (Clydach market would have done before they closed it)...<whistle>

Does anyone think Barrow will play the role of winger if needed leaving us just after a cover left back now.

Edit- forget that, swansea's website says he is going straight into tonights under 21 developmental match
