Thought I'd create this ahead of deadline day to collate all the rumours/options in one place. Looks very likely that Seydou Doumbia will be the striker we bring in, on loan with option to buy. Not dissimilar in style/looks to Obafemi Martins, he's a pretty good player for a team trying to avoid the fizzy pop league. Rumours also emanating from Spain that Valencia's move for Siqueiro will allow us to take Lucas Orban on loan with a view to buy. Also allegations that NUFC have been waiting to complete the Willo/Thauvin exits in order to sign these two. That will also apparently conclude the dealings.
Good shout. i saw the word 'dead' and rhought it was another of those popular RIP threads but I guess not. Praying for a striker and a LB.
I personally think we are done if you're going to bring someone in, it should of been done by now like Saivet, Shelvey and Toonsend leaving it to the last minute, as we have found out in the past, tells us we will be wanting someone for nowt, and we won't get them go on Ashley yer twat proove me wrong
I would like to think we will get those elusive last couple of signings. Definitely need a striker and left back . Somehow suspect we are done, as others have said, should have had our business done and dusted by now. Desperate deadline day deals don't normally materialise for us, UNLESS WE ARE SELLING! Whilst the signings have been pleasing this window, l fear they are not enough. Will be ecstatic to be proven wrong, when our Knights in Black and White armour come over the last minute line. HTL
According to GFN France we are not trying to sign just the one striker, but are looking to finalise the transfers of both Doumbia and Gomis. The first on a 6 month loan with a buy option and the second for a fee of just under 7million Euros.
we'll take your £40m, but you can keep the players, Enrique loooks overweight and Benteke is overweight
Thrown in Gerrez too for a tenner and a burger, and we'll let our strikers use them as targets for shooting practice.
Do feel as though at least one if not two will come in and Thauvin will go on loan. From all the rumours I wouldn't mind Doomboy (his name should have the right ring for a few on here) and a left back (probably the Valencia one). Not sure of logic of not getting players as we should have done it before now as transfer window still open! If we do get those two then I am as certain we will stop up as Chippy not ever showing his backside at Fenwicks window.
This is quite interesting and somewhat obviously about Berahino: http://www.thesecretfootballer.com/...middle-of-chairman-manager-transfer-standoff/ Basically saying that 'someone' wants to leave, his teammates want him to leave and the manager wants him out to spend the money/pocket some cash via agents fees. Chairman's the one who doesn't want to sell as he's almost purely not wanting to give the manager a slice of the pie. What is entirely possible if you consider this is that Berahino is already a done deal, but Peace/Ashley have agreed to not push it through til the last few hours, giving Pulis no time to spend on his own purchases.
Hopefully an indication that the transfer of Doomboy(sp) is picking up pace. http://www.squawka.com/news/newcastle-transfer-news-doumbia-arrives-for-medical/587148 The footballer not CC.
Yep, Chronicle now on the "he's having a medical" bandwagon. No pictures, which is odd, but those in Italy thought it was nailed on deal yesterday. Good signing, potentially, has scored goals. If we get Berahino as well we're laughing. Probably.
Hopefully, will get completed today According to La Provence, French winger Florian Thauvin has this morning undergone a medical with Marseille successfully. The player’s loan move from Newcastle to Marseille without a buy option should be confirmed officially by the French club this afternoon.
if only, please make it happen... Lille re-open negotiations for Emmanuel Rivière According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, Ligue 1 side Lille have re-opened negotiations with Newcastle United for the possible signing of French striker Emmanuel Rivière. The striker had been offered to Lille earlier on in the window, but a talks did not become concrete because Newcastle wanted to sell the player and not allow him to go out on loan. As it stands, Newcastle’s position is the same. They want to sell the player outright but Lille are only willing to sign the player on loan with an option to buy. The question is whether or not NUFC will concede defeat in the final hours of the window and allow the player to leave on loan after all. One to watch in the next 36 hours.
I dont think this will go through. I suspect Lille want too much money to take him and I think Mike will draw the line st having to pay teams to take our players.
