With the transfer window closing we didn't make a swoop for any player but that comes as no surprise but maybe we will be able to do a bit of business now it is closed. Looking at some moves in League 1 I did note two players that are now available in the form of Kem Izzet and Gary McSheffrey who were released by Colchester and Coventry respectively. Kem Izzet is less impressive granted but could be a decent option in the centre of midfield in we don't get Gary Dicker who I believe is all but signed in my opinion. McSheffrey did leap out at me however as I think he could be a wide midfielder which we need as having only Weston and Whelpdale as out and out wide players. I know there may be many stumbling blocks such as his family being settled in the Midlands and possibly demanding a high wage, but feel if we got him and Dicker the midfield goes from one of the weakest areas to the strongest in my opinion. Deadline day is never exciting in the lower leagues and I am more excited for the reopening of the loan market where we may be able to get some players that we wouldn't have had a chance of signing in the summer but find themselves out of the plans at their club and are desperate for first team games. MA still needs to do a little more wheeling, dealing and most importantly begging to get money from Mr. Scally, if we are going to do okay this season as feel we just need a little more to get us over the line in games. Look forward to Orient tonight and feel the future could be bright!

The last "Marquee" signing the club made was possibly the worst signing the club has ever made, I shall not mention any names due to another on going court case with him but is it just a coincidence that since then there has not been a signing where the manager has said tht it's the no.1 signing etc? Most signings now don't seem to have any grandure about them, I'd you know what I mean.

Wasn't Cody our last marquee signing? Not sure about being the worst buy ever but he certainly hasn't set L1 on fire has he?!

Adebayo Akinfenwa, Cody McDonald, Charlie Lee, Chris Whelpdale, Deon Burton and Tommy Forecast were our last Marquee signings and they turned out alright. Perhaps not Forecast but hey-ho.

He was close again on Saturday, why we can't play him and Bayo together baffles me.

I predict Cody will finish the season as our top scorer by a country mile.

Not hard at present with the number of goals being scored..............Sorry for being pessimistic but after the rhetoric of 'going to smash league one' and going to take it to Leyton Orient (2-0 down at half time).......getting a tad miffed already.

None of the above players were ever touted as someone who was going to take us to the next level, one we had tracked for ages etc etc etc; also Cody, Charlie Lee and Chris Whelpdale all played on loan before the signed permanently so I don't see them as the "marquee" type signing. Akinfenwa's been here before too although he was mentioned as a "big signing" just before he was confirmed but we all know that was a reference to his size.

    Surely you mean MARK MCCAMMON

The laziest worst excuse for a footballer we have ever seen?
