Is it not time for oxo to get his head down and concentrate on keeping is place in the Saints team with nearly a week to go until the season kicks off? If he does stay who do you think will get the nod for the Leeds game? De Ridder for me just to show oxo he is not the first name on the team sheet even in the championship.

Really pleased to hear the positive vibes on De Ridder, lets hope he can produce consistently and we could be laughing all the way to the play offs!
I would ask those who went last night: If you had to compare him to a more well known player, who would it be??

Does anyone know how much we actually paid for De Ridder?

I dont know if many agree..... but he got down and attacked players like oxo but seemed to have the agility of Lallana? Maybe a lil ott but i was VERY impessed with him for a debut too!

    Thanks Nashy.
I think we have been crying out for someone to run at the full backs for a while.
Antonio was ok when on loan and obviously Chambo and LaLa do it but we lack if they are not on the field.

    Bring on Leeds!!

Sorry but if Chamberlain is fit he has to start - De Ridder needs to earn his place in the team like Chamberlain did last season. De Ridder seems a good player but let's not jump the gun completely.

De Ridder really did look the business, what i like he varied his game, some times down the outside, other times went inside. and the step overs and tricks all had end product and wasnt just a fancy dan showboating!!! Always ended up with a cross or free kick!!!

Plus we may see some of his stuff on the showboating soccer am!!!!

Looked class player last night great skill on the ball & wasn't afraid to get stuck in & put in the tackle. Great addition to what we have already got.

Hopefully De Ridder will serve as a reminder to Chambo that his place in the starting line up is not a dead cert and therefore if he isn't an obvious first-choice, that maybe another season (at least) with the Saints would do him good.

A knock to the ankle might not be easily shaken off so De Ridder may get the nod. Great to have competition for places. Will be interesting to see who plays Saturday. I can only assume Holmes and Forte on the flanks and probabley Barnard & Lambert up top

He looks quite showy and he has all the moves and thats great as i think he will be great fun but effective into the bargain he was looking for the byline and whipped in crosses when it looked like he had been forced into an area where a cross looked unlikely which must have given Ricky food for thought . He looks a very gifted player and will reap havoc in the championship

Just been watching the highlights of the WBA game on Saints Player and de Ridder certainly gave the defenders something to think about when he came on!

Glad we got comp for places now and hope we can keep him, Chambo and Lallana fit for the majority of the season, would be nice to get another winger personally who can play both sides so when him and Ridder play they can swap sides and confuse defenders a bit more lol
