Saw this on the skynews site. THought it was Qi... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/12040/8627549/Contrasting-keepers If someone was able to come up with Hugo's stats that would be great!
Stats are overrated. We know what these 'keepers can and can't do. de Gea has proved to be a great shot stopper. He still lacks the presence and confidence to command a congested penalty area especially when faced with a high ball. Hart is a commanding presence, but has had a few previously uncharacteristic lapses this season. Lloris commamds his area too, but in a different way, almost acting as a sweeper behind a high backline. It can be a risky strategy. Good shot stopper too.
Erm Roo..... is that some kind of code? LDL - I agree, De Gea is a fantastic shot stopper. Hart I haven't seen make many amazing saves this season - Whether that is indicative of his form, or the chances haven't arisen, or I just haven't been watching I don't know. I've been very impressed with Hugo, hype is one thing...delivering is another. I think he bosses the box from corners, makes great saves and as you say plays the sweeper keeper to a T. Looking forward to his progress next year, especially if we can keep a solid back four. Perhaps consisting of Loris Walker Kaboul Verts Benny
A small tribute to Lloris..
LOL THFC6061 is responsible for all of our match threads, pretty much! He's the spursGURU, spursguru!
Don't know the stats etc but all I know is as of the moment, there's not a keeper in the League, nor Europe come to think of it that I'd switch Hugo for. Safe to say he is a WORLD CLASS goal keeper, yeah that's it, I said WORLD CLASS! Now pelt me with the "Define world class" comments or say he's not and watch me give a ****.
I wouldn't talk up Lloris' shot stopping, to be honest. First and foremost, as you say, his speed off his line and judgement has been exceptional so far. He comes out of his area every game and has always got there first, the only blot on his copy book is the stupid touch he took that went straight to Downing. In one on ones he has also done really well, making himself big and when you combine that with his ability to intercept through balls, it negates the biggest problem of having a high line. On the downside I actually think his shot stopping is nothing to shout about there are more times when I've looked at a goal and thought that he could've done better than times I've seen him pull off a brilliant save(one on ones aside). Overall he's a great 'keeper and well suited to our team and as much as I'd like to see him pull off some more Worldy saves, his consistency and how well he's suited to our style of play are more important.
I don't know... do we have any ITK's? Why would Benny be off? I really don't think it would be wise to be shipping out a pretty decent LB, when we really need to be spending money on a winger, AT Midfielder, Striker and Dembele sub. imo.
