De Boer would never manage a Championship club!

I seem to remember lacazette being number one choice for a striker so who's our last choice?

De Boer doesn't want to manage a mid table side

You gotta love the bookies. I think I need to investigate the possibility of becoming one. Such easy money. Imagine how much they've taken in the last 7 days. All they have to do is shorten the price and the lemmings appear.

Yep, I gave up when I looked into the Paul Tisdale odds shortening. Basically Ian Dennis had said, off the wall, "when NUFC appointed Pardew they were seriously considering Tisdale, so with Ashley rule nothing out" - ergo some idiots spunked money on Tisdale, his odds plummeted from 100/1 to 16's!!!

They basically know the square root of fck all. When someone carries 1/50 odds, then it's probably time to call off the search.

The bookies really are milking this, are we positive they aren't working with the club?

Still can't see past Garde until a paper other than the mirror or independent report something

Not for this stuff. The bookies make the odds to suit. Easiest money they ever make.

If Carver remains in charge for the rest of the season, mid-table would be an incredible result.

Personally, I think the man is inept and we will drop like a stone down the division with him at the helm.

If Ashley is leaving the selection and recruitment of the next coach solely to Carr and Charnley then clearly he hasn't got a No.1, 2 or 3. If he specifically wanted somebody in they would be tasked with securing that persons services. If his hands off approach is true, which I doubt by the way.............. but if it is true then it just highlights how uninterested he is in NUFC now a days.

The truth is that absolutely all of this is pure media speculation because nobody actually knows **** all about what is going on. Not even NUFC themselves sometimes, I suspect.

    <laugh> De Boer <laugh>

    Didn't he reject Spurs?

<laugh> What a farcical suggestion. The sooner we accept it's Carver for the forseeable future, the better <ok>

So the agent's been on and ruled out the chance of him joining THIS month. But the comments are all "he'll be there til the Summer". So, does the club go with Carver and have De Boer next season? Or do we pick Garde or Sherwood (new favourite) right now?

How the hell is Sherwood favourite, that one won't work. Him and Ashley will be at daggers with each other.

This whole saga is now getting to be a joke. New favourite every day ( most rubbish ). Please get your fingers pulled out and get a competent coach in.

De Boer would be canny though.
I believe the story went that Spurs rejected him because he broke his silence on his meeting with Levy who took offence to it. Who knows. I doubt very much Frank De Boer, one the leading young managers in Europe, is swooning at the thought of joining Newcastle in the summer (he has already said he will not be leaving mid season).

Garde probably likewise although less so.

It'll be Carver from now till May at the very least. I doubt very much Ashley has suddenly become interested in spending money on us. The only way you get top managers like De Boer is if they get promised a budget befitting their reputation. They are not stupid. They realise that your transfer budget largely directly correlates to your finishing position in the PL. Obviously we are the anomaly. But not in what someone like De Boer would describe as a good way <laugh>

You say this, yet he is in a system where he doesn't control transfers and, specifically, is aware that part of his job is to develop talented youngsters so Ajax can sell to keep afloat. Who else is he going to go to? Everything will be a stepping stone, and as a coach the role at NUFC is so low risk it must be EXTREMELY interesting to a manager like De Boer.
