DC yesterday Obtained his UEFA PRO coaching licence. This is the highest level a coach can achieve. Many congratulations Darrell on your achievement
I am pleased that no reputable side has come in for him, If I was a manager I wouldn't have signed for Leeds if they were the only club to come calling. Good managers suddenly became bad managers when they joined Leeds, all right if you had a long contract and got a good payoff I suppose but if you liked doing your job you didn't appear to get much opportunity to see it through
He has said CJS that he wants to see Rovers in a position to challenge for the Championship or be in the Championship, now he has this higher qualifying coaching licence maybe the board will sit up and take notice before another club comes calling and back him in the transfer market with funds and wages money
From a purely personal point of view I am not really that fussed if he stays or leaves, like I have said before, 'players, managers and owners all come and go, I am here for life following the shirts and the name. I do think though that if the owners don't give a little more financial backing this term then it will be his last at our club which I am aware will disappoint a good number of people as he does seem quite popular with a large faction of our faithful.
Like you Delsy I have followed and supported Rovers for about 60 years and of our recent managers DC is the one that stands out as getting players to wear that shirt and play for shirt with pride. I believe that we are not far off being a team that could get us championship football whether we stay in the championship or not would be a different matter but he is I believe the man to take us forward
If DC does decide to go, would you want Stewart to take charge, who can carry on with DC's plan or get another man in and start fresh?
Hard to say that , Stewie knows the club, knows how things work so would be the ideal choice in some respects but if he did follow on from the present manager then wouldn't things just keep rolling on as is ? Maybe a new man in would be a better option to inject some new impetus in to proceedings but the crux of the matter from where I am looking at things is investment in to the team. It doesn't matter who the new boss is going to be if he doesn;t have the tools to progress the club forward then BRFC will always be bumping along in the lower leagues and playing in a sub standard arena. The stadium situation has to be addressed first and foremost, it is only when we have a decent facility that will attract quality players that the club will have any realistic chance of elevating themselves to the next level. It is a big undertaking I appreciate that but with the clout of the present owners it shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility.
