Darrell Clarke praised his sideâs desire to keep going right until the end. He said: âI was really chuffed to bits with our first-half display and the only disappointing thing for me was that we didnât have the game dead and buried by the break. It was a little more even in the second-half but I canât recall Steve Mildenhall having to make a save. I think the only shot they had on target was the goal and the pleasing thing from my perspective was the way we kept going until Angelo popped up to get that goal at the end. We have played well in a lot of games, but our problem has been that we havenât been taking our chances to win them. To beat a very good side that has a very good manager makes it a great three points for us, but it is only one result and we wonât be getting carried away. The boys are level-headed and they certainly arenât jumping through hoops or anything like that. We are ticking along nicely and I personally believe there is only one team that can beat us and that is ourselves. Iâve always said that I will get this club in the top five and I believe that I will do that. I just want to get as many supporters behind us as possible because we do have a really good squad of players and the more the fans believe in us the more the players will believe they can do it.â http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/Bristo...match-251114/story-24686134-detail/story.html
Darrell Clarke was pleased at the way his team fought to the final seconds to secure all three points. He said: “The game should have been dead and buried at half time, but I was pleased with how we kept going. We had to change things up, Andy [Monkhouse] was suffering with tight hamstrings and Nathan [Blissett] with a tight calf and I just can’t afford injuries. It was a good first half performance, but some times we’ve dominated games this season but haven’t put our chances in. It is nice to get a couple of goals tonight, it’s good for Matty Taylor to be on the scoresheet again. I think my centrebacks deserve credit, I think they both handled Akinde very well and that is the leagues top goal scorer. To have a player that has scored 15 goals this season come down and not get a look shows you how fantastic my defenders were. The second half was a bit more even but my goalkeeper didn’t have a save to make, I believe their only shot on target was the goal. We kept going to the very end and tonight we got our rewards. The pleasing thing for me is that we are not getting carried away, it is just three points at the end of the day. Another pleasing thing is that we got another three points in front of our supporters on a wet, miserable night. Barnet are a very good side with a very good manager so it is nice to get three points off them." http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/darrell-post-barnet-2105315.aspx
