it's been a great day for us Town fans......many positives to take from the events of today long may it continue... I'm sure there will be some dips along the way but I am confident we can achieve something this season........
Everyone seems to criticise our style of play... But this is a grind out results league and Mick has a lot of experience at this level. Happy time to be a Town fan, long may it continue!
Sorry I'm joining the party late, the game was on cable here in the states so I just finished watching the recording of the match. I really thought it was going to end up a very forgettable game of football but you can't imagine how ecstatic I was when Hunt scored. I'm just so pleased that we kept going until the end and got three points from what was, in all honesty, a poor game. I was frustrated with Parr a number of times during the match because although he's pretty good defensively I lost count of the number of times he got into an attacking position where a right footer could've swung the ball in but he instead had to check back, losing that critical timing of putting the ball in. There were a few mistakes today that could have led to goals but we stood resolute and walk away with another win. Well done lads
Another bag of sugar to send to an opposition manager! According to him Charlton played all the football and we played long ball! He obviously wasn't watching the same game as I was then!
It does make a nice change that 'nice little' Ipswich are getting up people's noses a little rather than what used to happen with lots of praise from the team that just beat us.
Stats clearly not his strong point, "80% of the game & 40 shots"....from what I have seen on the BBC site for the match the game was very much 50/50.!
Wooooooooo. What a day. Only just seen result. Bit late but its my daughters 16th so I can be excused. Wow we get an at the death winner well done Hunty. Another astute mick loanee? Hoppers I too saw it on bbc site and it all looked very 50/50. We are grinding out results when we have to and look where it's got us so far. 2nd. Bloody 2nd. I couldn't care less what opposing managers think of us. We don't play hoofball,we're not a dirty team mick has got us set up to play and get a result against whoever is in front of us. Slowly starting to think we might just do something this season.
In all fairness, if their centre forward had alittle bit more composure, we could've been acouple down before we scored.
Ifs and buts, we also wasted good opportunities, if not clear cut. I think what it's fair to say it's so good to see an Ipswich defence not panic and remain so organised.
I thought Mings looked good today apart from a five minute spell second half in which he made a few errors..
What happened? I had to go out straight after the final whistle. Lets be fair, we got out of jail massively today, but do i care? Do i ****! Really impressed with barty today, i would say gerks will have to work reaaly hard to get place back.
Sir Bobby said something once to the effect of "I wish we won every game 1-0". Winning. Away. Being second. Norwich losing at home. Can't ask for more than that. Apart from being first.
