http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/daws-performed-miracles-harry-160112.html Harry Redknapp paid tribute to Michael Dawson after the skipper completed three matches in a week following his long-term injury. Michael was out of action for four months as he recovered from an Achilles problem. He returned for the FA Cup third round win against Cheltenham and followed up against Everton on Wednesday and Wolves on Saturday. "Michael's performed miracles," said Harry. "He's a fantastic professional, the most honest, wholehearted person you could meet. "He had one week's training and to play three games in a week was asking an awful lot of him. "After he played on Wednesday, I asked him how he felt and he said 'I'll be all right for Saturday'. "He wants to play every game but I've probably stretched him to the limit. "He's an amazing lad, the type of player and person that makes a football club." -------------- for Harry and Daws.
Well done to Dawson, but you have to question why Redknapp didn't just pick Bassong for one of the games. Unless he's definitely leaving in this window, you'd have to say that it's sending out the wrong message to our squad players. Dawson wasn't at his best against Wolves. I think it was too much to ask of him after such a long absence, especially when we had other options.
Bassong surely has to be on his way this month, even with Ledley, Gallas and Dawson injured for most of this season he hasn't played a lot and now Dawson is fit he's gonna play even less and I think Samba will be a Yid by the end of the month as well.
Possible Dona, but there are others interested. The media seem to think that he wants to link up with Hughes at QPR. Would be a strange choice, especially if the other options are Spurs or PSG.
