Scunny have sacked Nick Daws, following this weeks tonking. Andy Dawson will take charge of this weeks game. Good luck to him.
That is a bit of a surprise, the seasons hardly started. Selling most of their best players doesn't help.
Sure I read somewhere they invested quite heavily, for them, in the last few years. But it's not worked out. So they're having to cut costs. The new stadium hasn't happened has it?
They are redeveloping Glanford park now, so there is a cost there. Peter Swan is on RH before their game Saturday, so more information might be forthcoming then, at least their Chairman comes out and say what's going on.
They got absolutely smashed at home though. Not really a surprise. The Scunny chairman does seem a bit P45 happy.
Also, with a week left of the loan window it won’t help bringing in reinforcements. Shoddy treatment of Daws who has been at Scunny a while in a variety of roles.
Went to watch Scunny on Wednesday as my friend is an avid fan and I had the football bug after the atmosphere at Rotherham away on Tuesday. They were dreadful, Borthwick-Jackson on loan from Man Utd at left back was a total disgrace. His attitude was awful, didn't attack at all, positionally clueless and didn't run. One of the worst showings of bad body language I have ever seen (apart from when Taraabt started crying at the KC a few years ago). 2,3,4,5-0 down and Daws just stood there, made no effort to organise his team or make any tactical changes. Could tell he was out his depth.
Humberside post match interviews will be schizophrenic, from Nige’s positivity overkill to Steve’s dour ponderings.
Scunthorpe United FC @SUFCOfficial Scunthorpe United is delighted to announce Stuart McCall as the club’s new first team manager. Scunthorpe United FC @SUFCOfficial The 54-year-old will be joined by Kenny Black, who will be the Iron’s first team assistant manager, and has previously worked with McCall at Motherwell, Rangers and Bradford City. We’re also pleased to confirm Andy Dawson will remain at the club as first team coach.
Somehow I can't see Andy been there long term, perhaps there's a role for him at City! Defence coach, though Rehab will say there's nothing wrong with the fence.
