New era at Bristol City as chairman Keith Dawe steps down after seven years A familiar name will replace him https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/new-era-bristol-city-chairman-2926722 Bristol City chairman Keith Dawe is set to step down from his role, ending a 23-year association with the club. In a changing of the guard, Dawe will be succeeded by former vice chairman Jon Lansdown, son of Robins owner Steve. John Lansdown taking over as our Chairman..
The issue here is unless a very very very rich person or business comes in it is the Lansdowns money and infrastructure that is Bristol Sport.
At least with Jon Lansdown in charge it keeps it in the family so to say. So means we will be protected for longer with his funding. One thing to remember is if it wasn’t for Jon Lansdown it would of probably been the gas Steve Lansdown would of invested in not us. Wasn’t SL a edging on the blue side but Jon asked to go and see City games as a youngster?
Lansdown joined City back in 2009 to work on the new stadium project team, initially on the Ashton Vale Project. He was made an executive director in March 2011, before stepping into the role of managing director eight months later. Lansdown became vice-chairman in September 2013 and takes a keen interest in the Academy, as well as the Bristol City Community Trust, for which he is a trustee.
