HAHA! Bet he talked himself out of the job in the forest boardroom!

Apparently they are now in talks with Schhhhteeeve about the vacant post.
    ------

My worry is that its another club with more financial clout than us that could come in for malky should he not sign for cardiff :/

Yep, Malky now second favourite for the Forest job and favourite for the Cardiff one.

With Birmingham's budget troubles in the prem, he'd be a good move for them, but I'm sure one of the 'big names' might take a punt on automatic promotion from the Champo.

Notts Forest is more realistic and a far better prospect than Baadiff. Their board are saints in comparison to ours :/

At the risk of sounding deluded isn't the fact that Malky is second favourite for the Forest job indicative of the fact that the bookies don't know what is going on? If he was nailed on for Cardiff there would be no chance of Forest.

We have to remember that the Bookies shorten odds to reflect the amount of money being placed so as to shorten their exposure. Malky has been getting linked a lot so it is naturally there would be a lot of betting on him.

Totally agree, I think it was SkyBet anyway (saw it on SSN a few minutes ago)!

Steve McLaren is 1/5 (I think), so being second favourite (7/1) isn't huge odds. Hughton was 7/1 also.

But to be fair to the bookies, I'd say those three are the most likely for the Forest job.

Apparently Forest are in talks with McLaren. McLeish going isn't a surprise but it will be interesting to see if he has somewhere lined up. Didn't Cardiff say they would be announcing tomorrow?

(You can but hope; although he is proven at getting teams out of this league and working on a relatively tight budget)

Bookies tend to be profitable. Has anyone met a poor one?

I certainly think that we are vulnerable in the managerial merry-go-round. While a week ago I was quite confident Mackay would stay, I have to say I'm now resigned to him leaving.

I still hope to be proved wrong, however.

Strange how Alex McLeish has gone just after Marlon King signs. I wonder if Carson Yeung organised the transfer and AM took exception, or is he really that poor. Worring though that three clubs should all be looking for managers and no doubt MM will be linked with all of them but would he really wish to go where expectations are so high and the reward for failing would be administered swiftly.

With their better balance sheets and equivalent league status MM would be a bit daft to leave a plave with no pressure on where we finish, in the supporters eyes anyway.

Would Brum want someone who has experience of managing in Europe rather than someone like MM as they've got the extra burden of the Europa League?

I'm resigned to Malky leaving this summer, having been certain this time last week that he would see this season out. But of the currently vacant jobs, are Cardiff really the best club that would employ Malky?

Big rumour over the week-end has been that Alex McLeish is on his way to Villa....so that leaves Brum, Florists and Baardiff on the poach. With a few big name managers still available, the question is will those clubs pay out for a big name or will they be prepared to lower their salary expectations? If so, then MM will come much lower down on their shopping lists! - Well, let's 'kin hope so!

What this means to me is that Malky will leave Watford very soon - whichever club it is he is almost gone already. I wouldn't blame him if he foresaw these events.

The Forest situation is particularly interesting - look up Mark Arthur's comments from Feb 2011. From memory something along the lines of "I've just received a cheque for £18m, our loss from last season". "How come MacKay gets Watford to that position on no money". Ask Jon Marks for more information.

Since Baz is now Chief Exec, it is up to him to lead the club forward. 52 points is a long way away.

It seems to me that with every manager who leaves a club, that is one more out of work manager looking for a job.

I much prefer to wait and see what happens before getting too much of a sweat up.

I wont be worrying too much if MM turns Cardiff down as i think he would stay and honor his contract, if Forrest had come in first then i would panic. But i have faith that Malky will stay and work wonders at our small club.

Well that's Florist out of the way as a rival for MM's favours!

This is a big test for Bas and how much ambition he has. He needs to refuse all approaches for Malky, and then give him a decent transfer kitty to make us competitive! If not, he can't complain if Malky requests to go... He has the ambition and looks like the talent to manage a big team!
