http://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/article/davies-excited-by-pool-switch-947092.aspx Blackpool fans will only be too aware of new signing Steve Davies having seen the striker fire in a few goals against The Seasiders in seasons gone by. Despite having personal success against his new club in the past, the 25-year-old is keen to start scoring goals in a tangerine shirt and is looking forward to the future. "I'm very excited," Davies told Blackpool's Official YouTube Channel. "Obviously it's a great club and over the past couple of years its been fighting at the right end of The Championship. "Especially coming from last year and being at Bristol and having a bad season, once I new Blackpool were interested I was keen to come down and talk to them." The striker may have been part of a side that got relegated last season, but he still managed to find the net 13 times, which prompted interest from other clubs up and down the land. "Bristol made me aware that there was a couple of clubs interested including a couple down south, but once I knew there was a club up north who were interested it was always my aim to come here so I could move my family back home so it was an ideal fit. "To be fair I have actually done alright against Blackpool! I think I scored two at Derby against them and it's a club I've faced on many occasions and obviously I've come here and I know how good the fans are so it will be nice to come here when the fans are on my side." Davies started out as a trainee at Tranmere and ever since leaving the Merseyside area has been a player that has been on Blackpool's radar. "When I left Tranmere I went to Derby and Blackpool were interested then and then half way through last year there was talk of the club trying to get me in and thankfully this summer it has come off. "I've done my pre-season at Bristol and I've had all my game time down there so it will be nice, if the gaffer chooses me on Sunday, to have a run out and actually meet all the fans and we'll we get right down to all the hard work next Saturday," added Davies.
Davies on Pool move: "Once I knew the club was interested there was only one decision and it was just down to how fast I could get here."
Has he thumped the shirt yet because that is usually the sign that he will underperform? If that is what he wants then good luck to him and I hope he finds a good looking donkey soon-lol.
Players,managers,chairmen........they all say exactly what they want the fans hear. As said above, just the standard bull thats thrown around in todays game. Would'nt it be great if they could all come out and say just what they wanted and sod the outcome of it all! "Could'nt get from Bristol quick enough to be honest.....last season we had a ****e defence, no midfield and were nailed on for relegation by christmas.....I hated it there. My new car was always in the garage and on some days I had to share a lift with Fonts!... my injury list grew and grew, the new manager was a Brummie and made me run faster and Blackpool offered me a shed load more money plus a family season pass to the pleasure park......"
You forgot the part about the new manager told me I had to get fitter or I wouldn't be playing it worked but I didn't like being told I had to stop eating all the pies.
