Bookies have just stopped taking bets on this eventuality! Might make our return fixture against the Swans a bit tricky. Have to wonder how they are planning to pay his wages. You would think they would be astronomic!
Except he hasn't stepped down. At least as of yet. Nevertheless, all the best for Tito. But yeah Swansea have got craaazy lucky!
Unofficial he hasn't but his op is thursday then he'll have chemo for 6weeks. So Barca will need someone to step in.
They've announced he's staying on. I guess even if he's unavailable for some matches they think he will still be able to work for the foreseeable future. Have to assume there's a reason they're willing to let Villa go. I'm sure he's still going to be a good signing for Swansea, but he's been injured hasn't he and he's the wrong side of 30, so he's almost certainly not the player he was.
I've read that they want to loan him out to get his match fitness back. 3 month loan according to some sources.
Michael Laudrup is a good friend of Pep Guardiola. They played together for Barcelona in the early 90s. Tito Vilonova was Pep Guardiola's assistant at Barcelona B and then the first team before Guardiola stood down and then Tito took over as manager in June. Looks like a favour to Laudrup to give Swansea David Villa on loan.

Any reliable sources? The "regain match fitness" argument is probably the right one. So he's going to be rusty, unfit, and adapting to a new league. I doubt he'll be a great asset. Seems more like of a favour from Laudrup to Barcelona! Famous last words
They're talking about odds being cut. There's a pretty easy way to know if they're telling the truth!
Not always, remember them suspending betting on Paul Hart to succeed Pardew? But yeah it is generally a good sign.
Yeah but my point is they're not actually saying Villa is going to Swansea, they're just reporting on the fact that the odds have been cut, so they can't be making anything up. Obviously anything else would just be pure conjecture at this point.
