No, not to manage us though I'd take either right now. They're going head to head at the moment in the ISL as managers of Pune City and Kerala. Watching the game live and it's far, far, FAR more entertaining than that ****e last night. With Stephen Bywater in goal for Kerala and Jolly Roger Johnson at the back for Pune, it just has to be......... Took a chance and stuck a fiver on Pune City winning it at 15/4. I know it's only live streaming on the web, but at the moment it's 2-2 with half an hour gone - so much better than sat watching Slade's drivel (or maybe it's dribble eh Masky?).
At my tender age of 42 (ish) Sparket, I do tend to dribble myself pal, not just from the one orifice either.. Some of my women find that exciting for some reason too! Now Roger Johnson was a fine player for city I recall, would be a class above what he witnessed last night! Please do not be rude bout my age pal, as I notice in the Prediction League that BFB's demise coincides with him removing the 60 age tag on his page, mind you he had a good three years with it!
Cheeky bugger. I didn't remove it, the system did some time ago along with the ages of everyone else who had published them. Some sort of Data Protection bollocks I guess. As for demise, form is temporary but class is permanent.
At just 42 (ish) Masky you should just be able to remember Steve Simonsen in goal for Pune and Nicky Shorey playing midfield for them. I remember Simonson playing for Stoke and Shorey was with West Brom for a while. Good to see them getting a second lease of life and showing these colonials how play the game. (there is no racist intent in that statement )
Great to watch, and it's a very happy Dai Platt and a totally pissed off Peter Taylor - anyway "Kerchink".......................
OK, Platty is on the case again this afternoon. Taken his Pune City side to Zico's Goa FC in the ISL. Jolly Roger and Nicky Shorey featuring large again for Pune, and the Goa side stuffed with Brazillians that Zico has brought in. Another great game to watch - fast and furious with no little skill as well.
Are you suggesting Sparks that you'd prefer to watch past it players in the backwater of India compared to the mesmerising display of attacking football that Russel is putting on at the CCS?
Yes........... The ISL itself is in its' infancy but there are some serious players and managers out there who are putting on a show for some massive crowds that are living the game like it should be, not cowering behind the abject fear of failure that blights the game over here. The competitive "I" League one tier below has always been there, but this new top flight of just 8 teams is attracting huge interest and world renowned names are getting on board. Zico, Dai Platt, Peter Taylor, Roberto Carlos, Nik Anelka are all now managing there and the list of experienced players is growing. It's a bit like China started on the same track a few years back with managers like Scolari and Sven now managing some very good sides - once again with massive followings. The game in Japan and Korea is also booming - even Jay Bothroyd and Diego Forlan can only get into second tier Japan league sides............
