Rumoured to be part of the Henderson deal. Everyone seem's to think he is ****e, what's the Liverpool view? Cheer's.
No pace, his second touch is always a tackle, he can't finish and he's not aggressive enough to play at the highest level.
There was a point where he could have gone either way. Sometimes he shows signs of class and vision and he pops up with the goals when they're needed. But other times his first touch is terrible, his hold up play is poor and his shots are woeful. He's still relatively young though and with more first team experience who knows. My honest opinion is that he won't make it at the top and I'm not too fussed if we sell him.
under rated, over criticised, holds up play well, DOES have a bit of pace and fans should get off his back, he performed OK when the whole team was doing ****e, he was under ****e management and was expected to lead our frontline alone, not got a sniff since we have been playing well due to kuyt, carroll and suarez
Have to diagree. He has been rated and failed. Like babel he has lots of potential and good physical assets but the end result is disappointing. If somebody wants him then he would be no great loss to the squad.
I thought it was Stoke he was going to,in a double deal that also involves Poulsen,Maybe we can also fob Konchesky off on Hodgson as he was the one that inflicted him on us in the first place.
Guys, let us not forget his goal against united last season though. I will always thank him for that, especially as earlier that day my United mate was giving me **** about how crap he was, then he goes and seals our win! Just to really rub salt in the wound.
Actually, i think he could do well at Sunderland if they give him a decent crack at it. i always thought he showed signs of brilliance and at times his finishing can be lethal. if he can get a bit more consistency you could have a decent player, and yes, he is still young. i'm sure given first team play, he can at least be worth more than you're getting him for. i think 5m would be a fair price.
^This^ Some people still haven't learned their Lucas lesson. Sigh. A 4th striker thrown in as 2nd striker last year and left alone when Torres got injured. Never whined, never tweeted, just put his head down and kept improving steadily. For that reason he's worth a punt to realise his potential. He's 22 and was out top scorer for a good while this season. He took all the blame for some Europa performances that were universally creditless, even under Kenny. No credit for keeping us in it early doors, though. He'll be a Zamora-type player, which is why he thrived under Hodgson. He won't be a superstar like Carroll but we paid less than £2m for Ngog and I heard his fee was going to be £8m so the club think he's improved, too. Any 21-yr old who scores a one-on-one against VDS has done well, no matter who's marking him.
Muppetfinder, in hindsight I appreciate the lad a bit more and what he offered. There were certainly signs of promise, like with Babel. But surely you must admit that more often than not you were frustrated with his play and often infuriated by some of the decisions he made? I often got the feeling he tried to do too much during games and pull off the dream nutmeg, rather than go back to basics and just hold up the ball well.
Well, he's not our problem anymore according to Eurosport! I thought he was OK at times but sometimes you'd be left scratching your head and thinking "what the hell is he doing?"
To be fair though, N'Gog could do quite well at Sunderland, and it also gives Bruce another striker, since he was running (very) short on them at the end of the season. He obviously won't make up for the loss of Bent, but he could link up nicely with Gyan. It'd be interesting to see if he becomes a regular starter.
Ngog could go either way for you. He showed points at the beginning of the season where he looked to be a better striker than Torres, and some of his finishing was superb. BUT he didn't do it enough, he didn't show the kind of commitment some of our other players did and his first touch is terrible.
